Hi, I am a bit lazy today.. Annie bought a case of heavy motor oil for the tractor.. I have to add often because I have bad rings..
I am waiting for late afternoon to go pull some more roots.. after 4PM the shadows start to fall across the garden..
Brent.. don't pull those peppers quite yet.. what I would try, haven't a clue if it would worrk, is just pull up on them a little bit to break a few roots.. the stress might trigger some blossoms.. what does it hurt to try ?? I read about this procedure a long time ago,, but I don't remember even what kind of plant it was done to..
another thing that might work, and again, I am not sure what to use... decaying material needs nitrogen .. if you could mulch with something that would decay and use up some of that nitrogen..
the first thing that pops into my head is fish guts.. ?? or green grass...??
Elaine, my Mom used to put grape leaves in her pickles.. IDK..?
Annie says some people use alum.. maybe there is some connection between grape leaves and alum ? acidity ?
I know it helps to use less ripened cukes..
LOL ain't I just a bunch of useless knowledge today ?
the no show called at 1PM today .. said she could come for the chickens.. she is not here yet..
I transferred 24 keets to the quail pen.. lots more room in there and better air circulation.. I have a big box fan going..
Tuesday is butchering day,, if it is not raining.. That will free up one cage.. I would like to keep the peachick in the house so we can handle him daily.. he is quite tame already.. I don't think Annie would like that,, though...
The goose finally quit her nest.. she hatched one duckling. and promptly lost it overnight.. not real good production for over 8 or 10 weeks of setting.. she is no dummy,, it kept the gander off her back... LOL
