I just hae to mention this.. The backsideholes are alive and well on the incubating & hatching thread..

I posted, out of the goodness of my heart , the instructions how to splint a splayed leg.. of course, the first reply was from somebody who did not even bother to try it, saying that you could not get the duct tape off because she used a bandade and it stuck.. Did I say to use a bandade ???? NO !!! I said DUCT TAPE !!!!!!

OK,, I feel much better now.. LOL

...........jiminwisc..........

BTW "backsideholes" in not what I had typed.. censors// LOL

Picture Perfect Afternoon All...

The two most unruley ones are in the fridge for 24 hours after being butchered...then freezer camp for them. I like to do it that way...Tender!
Prolly a few more to go yet...hardest part is deciding who gets to stay...not really, but ya for me.

Times like these....

and

to my post !!! Guess what I was trying to say is "I don't have the heart to cull my roosters" YET so I have a rooster rescue BUT I certainly don't need any more !!!

I seem to have a knack for hatching out roosters. That is what is making it hard for me to cull, having raised them from chicks etc.

So, I was just trying to give you a hard time, bad joke. Sorry !!

Evening All....

rooster camp jus aint gonna work here on the hill... It's all about feedin and makin the best a place to stay.

i'm hoping I'm improving the breeds I spend alot of time with, and need to make a difference in regards to some that truly need to be cullls, and don't come close enough to the standard. It's just right to bring the critical breeds back to where they should be, in my opinion and no, it's not easy ever....I'm trying to keep breeds alive that would go instinct...if folks like me and you didn't care about keeping their special qualities special!

I feel sorry too. bigz

Dr Ha ha, I'm here. Just a lerker these days.

I had a young raccoon stumble into my yard the other day. Acted like it was drunk. Didn't make any noise. Poor little guy! He was soooo cute. We used to raise coons for the DNR when I was younger so I know how they are supposed to act. He seemed healthy enough otherwise. Nice coat. No other signs of sickness or injuries. But that was wierd!

Nothing else much new.

Does anyone know when the swaps are at the Waupaca County Fairgrounds? BL4??? You must know. What are the dates?

Good evening! Actually went on a really long Horse ride with DD19...what a gorgeous day! We had them all loaded up and were going to go out to McCarthy but the truck decided that it didnt want to run right. Went around the block and it stalled on the intersection just before our house. We saddled up and rode home to tell DH that "the truck that runs absolutely fine" is stalled up the road. I guess the new seatbelts he installed didnt help the truck run better! Turns out that it overheated and the gas that was in the tank was bad (he says) I will drive it to work this week and make sure it is good before I try to take it way out of town for sure!
Today I canned 2 more pints of baby pickles, 4 quarts of HOT peppers and 7 pints of Bread and butter pickles. THe shelf is getting more full!
Many hens...I dont want to give away who DrH is...that is for him to do; I just think it is so funny that you are the person he thought you were? WELCOME!
I just made up a packet of zucchini, potatoes, yellow squash, eggplant, mushrooms and salsa to put out on the grill with our chicken. I cant wait! It is so good. (and I am hungry!)

Well--I guess I will go out and water birds again before dinner...I have to be sure to lock up both tortoises tonight, I couldnt find Clarence with a flashlight last night and I was worried about him all night. I have a guinea pipping in the bator too...the others hopefully will have more company soon. The outside ones are down to 5 from 6 today. One of the whites disappeared. Good night! Terri O
