Oh how cute !!!! I'd take them if DH would let me but I doubt that would happen since I just brought home the pony !!! If you were closer............ Ahhhh !!

That picture reminds me of Jims house. He has a deck and patio door !!!! The goose would feel right at home !!!!!
lau.gif
How bout it Jim !!!

Well, I've been scouring Ebay for a pony harness. Still not sure what size she would need. All of the different harness's give different sizes for S, M, L
barnie.gif
So I would hate to order.
I had an Amish make one for my Percheron/Morgan and when I got it it Just Fit !!! She is a pudgO !!

Anyway I found someone that isn't Amish that makes them in KS. I emailed them so we shall see. Would be nice to get one that isn't made in India, China or ??????

You wouldn't believe what comes up on Ebay when you type in harness, studded harness Etc. I should have known !!!!! I was at Tandy Leather last year in Milwaukee and the guy was telling who some of his best customers were. (This conversation started after a customer came is asking if he had a pattern for whips
ep.gif
gig.gif
)He actually told me he has them not come in on the weekends when alot of family with kids come into the store.

He said let's put it this way, You don't want the leather to chafe your horse, same with people !!!!
ep.gif
That was an eye opening conversation. He actually drives to Chicago and meets up with these people !!!
ep.gif
Brings in alot of business for the guy !!!!
gig.gif

So anyway, today I'm going to go out, hopefully with DH ET's help and do all kinds of measurements (on the pony
gig.gif
) so I can give them all of the measurements and let the harness makers figure out what size !!!

As far as my new cart goes, it was shipped last week. I got ahold of the shipper. It is actually only 30 miles from Wausau right now !!! So that would be less then 100 miles away. When it gets to the guy I"m buying it from it will be in New Holstein which is 170 miles away !!! I thought about maybe go and getting it myself BUT. It is all in pieces !!!!! Everything !!! Fenders, wheels, guards
, brakes Etc !!!!
So I'd have to put it all together !!!!! Knowing us we have extra pieces !!!!
Then I thought I could just bring it right to Jims place !!!!!!
gig.gif
Just kidding Jim, I know you're busy with your lawn mower !!!
lau.gif

So it won't get to New Holstein until maybe next Wednesday or Thursday !!!! The guy will actually be going thru Rhinelander (30 miles from here) first !!! But again it would be in pieces.
Guess unless the shipper has a route in the area the shipment just waits til they do !!!! Guess that is why the shipping is so cheap vs if I would have ordered it myself from OH !!

Well, I'll get it sooner or LATER, good thing I ordered runners for winter !!!

Not like I don't have other stuff to keep me occupied around here. DH ET has been working hard on the fence posts. Almost all of them are in. I told the girl at the feed store that we almost have them all in and then I corrected myself, I said DH ET does. I didn't do a D*M thing !!!
gig.gif
Someone has to hold down the fort right ???
lau.gif

Ok, enough already, sorry for the long post !!!!

nice and sunny here! Working on restaining the kids playset today-did a big part of it yesterday early evening. 5 eggs are now at day 18, removed to stoppers and 1 of the 5 is iffy, hatch day is tuesday so we will see.

Did the retirement home visit with the 4-H group yesterday afternoon, had 5 kids and 2 adults show to visit with the residents. We took Ellie(Aussie pup), she did fine but was passed out in the car on the way home, we took 4 cuckoo marans chicks and we also took the peachick. The peachick was a big hit with the people, we didn't take it out of the carrier but everyone could look in the end at it. It is always an enjoyable time.

DH made pancakes for breakfast this am, yummy!

Have a good one!

good am, I did not sleep at all last night.. I just woke up from a 3 hour nap..

I am going to just make unspecific comments from now on, too hard to go back and read everything..

FT, I hope you do not go with the nylon harness.. I have seen some of those after they were used for awhile.. the straps curl, and they get stained and I like leather..

Since you are going to build your own buggy, you might as well buy a harness and cut it down.. where are you going to find a collar ??
when I was a kid, my friends dad had rows and rows of collars hanging in one of the barns.. easily more than 100 of all sizes from pony to giant horse.. he picked them up at auctions for a song.. He was also a horse trader in this area.. I often wondered what happened to all of them ??

that goose of yours would have to take a number to stand at our patio door.. turkeys, geese, chickens, and now a peacock..
the goose taps on the window to get Ken to throw out bread..

hey !! I just had a thought,, make a harness out of spandex,, one size fits all ... LOL

...............jiminwisc..............

Yep, I am getting leather !! I saw a nylon one at a small tack shop just south of Antigo and after seeing that well, need I sam more, leather is the way to go !!!

I am looking at the harness's that don't use a collar. It is a breast strap. More of a buggy type, show type harness. My big drafts do have the collars. I admit I like the looks of the collars but the breast strap type look nice too !!! Lets face it, they all look nice !!!

I can see it now. One of those take a number contraptions at you patio door with all your chickens, geese, guineas, turkeys, peacocks and peahens holding their numbers !!!

Only at Jims place
lau.gif

Me, I think I'll just post a sign that says "Please seat yourself!"
lau.gif

Btw, how's that cockatiel doing? Wait till you see how much dander they make, multiply that times about 10 and that's how much I have around here with all of my parrots !!! Not to mention the chicks that were in the house.
th.gif

On second thought, my sign will say "I'll be right out !!"
lau.gif

Well, I'm running late as usual, I am going to Crandon to a rummage sale that says they have horse stuff !!! We shall see. Taking the truck, just in case I find something big the I just have to have !!!!
The tack shop got back to me from KS. They want $200 and it is only 10-12oz back leather? I don't think that is very heavy. The ones made out of the country say 20oz leather !!
Maybe a different kind of leather though. So just something else to have to do my homework on. I might just call an Amish in Bounduel and see if he has any nice used ones.

Well, off to Crandon.

PS. Must be nice all over the state, nowone is online !!! Oh and Jim I thought you were going to a big sale today? I was going to have people place bets on what you brought home !!!
idunno.gif

Enjoy !!

BBP, I'd take that goose in a heartbeat but then my DD wouldn't come and visit.... nasty bite from a goose as a child, don't think she's ever gotten over it... didn't help that when she was talking about it I had no memory of it.. LOL

Woke up this morning with the worst headache, that tried to turn migraine on me, then just dissappeared... thankfully. Called the landscaping guy to arrange a time to meet him at one of his clients house this morning and he told me the girl that recently quit on him called him last night and said she can still work for him... DH thinks it's his gf, which it may be.. oh well. Neighbor may have a lead on a 90 day job, which we'd take turns at since it's 7 days a week, will know more tomorrow. Staying with an elderly woman who's just getting out of the hospital.

Ants were taking over the back yard, so got some diatamaceous (sp) Earth and made the rounds... DH is upset, he likes the ants and hates killing anything except spiders for me. Took me 45 minutes to hit all the ant nests... that's a lot of freakin ants! Also reseeded some bare spots in the doggy yard and of course didn't buy enough seed AGAIN. Will run out tomorrow and get some more.

Have to work at Furry Babies tonight or Poopy Palace as I now refer to it... those little buggers go non stop!

Well, off to do up some laundry and then maybe relax a bit before work.

Have a great evening all
Deb

The ponys name is Spice. I've been calling her Spice Girl, Spice Cake or just Spicey. It may change as I see more of her personality.

I think that sweet potato is saying "Don't eat me "

Early Evening All...how about the finish to the game yesterday? I thought for sure the Pack was beat with less than a minute to go! It was priceless to see payton with his mouth open, not hardly believing they just lost!

The trail cam has a few nice picks where I'm dumping the extra apples.

Tonight it's Spinach Tortilla Casserole....quite tasty and my favorite spinach dish.

More football tonight....

It must be heaven!

I had my first Wildtree party today and it went great! I had given a catalog to a friend and she had already filled out her order form before coming. It consisted of 2 items. After sampling the food she bought over $150 worth of product! Everyone else was impressed and made good size orders too. Wildtree is a home party company that sells natural foods. No artificial colors, preservatives, msg or bad chemicals. Everything is made in a peanut free facility, they will be certified organic soon, and they have a new gluten free line. If anyone wants me to mail them a catalog I would be happy to.

My kids had the bantam cochins in the house today. I just love those little chickens. I think one day I'll just have all cochins. They have such a wonderful personality. I'm not a fan of feathered legs, otherwise they would be perfect.
