I felt the same way, Bigz. Thought for sure the Pack was going to lose that one. What a Cardiac Pack moment! Awesome comeback! I hope the rest of the season is as successful. But I didn't watch the game tonight. My heart belonged to Nascar this evening.

ok check this out, some how we got something wrong in the egg coloring department??? lol

Its hard to see, but it is a green eggs with a really dark spot/streak, almost like someone tried to color it with easter egg coloring lol

Oh, Cind, you were completely correct on the plant i.d. Upon closer inspection, those stupid bushes of mine DO have some inconspicious thorns on them. They are the common buckthorn. And they are everywhere!

Whoa! Raim, what is up with that? Freaky!

Yea, most times you don't notice the thorns until they get ya!

I don't know how they are doing it.... But Jasmine's kids managed to escape the little coop/run again! Not only that, but I caught 4 of them at the neighbors! We have a 4' fence all the way around the backyard! OK, the Ameraucanas could fly over, but those Cochin can barely make 20"!

Canned those sweet potatoes tonight. Got 9 pints! The canner holds 8!

Well, DH said there was more to come so I put the 9th jar in the frig. It should be ok 'till he brings more this week.

Very cool colored eggs, I had a pure white one but now they are all coming out brown. I am now getting about 3 eggs a day from my 7 girls. So far we got 12 . Nine were intact
3 where laid while they were perching at night and broken in the poo bins. They are still small eggs but I am sure as they mature we will get bigger ones.

raim that's a really cool lookin egg! Think I'd seal it somehow and keep it. Weird tater there Cind! CC and Bigz didn't make to the end of the game now wish I had. FT don't know much about horses or tack but I do know there's a place called B&B I think in Amherst that has tack. I'm really starting to get ticked at the hens this moult is lasting way to long!!!!! I want eggs!

The kid came through with the 4 cord of wood. I brought the trailer home and stacked myself, he was a little short but I'm lettin it go. I'm done dealing with him.

Jim yup your right about the SS# but you can't tell him anything. Surprise! The camper made the trip without incident

Now I've got the itch to get back up there. My neighbor has kept the grass mowed all summer so that was a nice surprise. Was expecting waist high weeds. Called a friend that I worked with yesterday and he said he'd take some beans and cukes. Boy is he gonna be surprised. Didn't get much done after getting back yesterday so kickin butt today. Better get to it.

You said it DrH. What a beautiful morning. And yes, you missed an awesome end to the Packers game. Sorry to hear you didn't get to see it. I hear you on the long moults. My ladies did that to me last fall. Felt like forever. My 4 new pullets gave me 4 eggs on Friday! The last buff finally started laying, but she broke an egg kicking around in one of the nest boxes.

The aussies are laying an egg a day, while the buffs are more sporadic, but they just came into laying this week. I think you'll be really happy with some aussies, DrH. Beautiful gals and early, reliable layers so far. Smart and friendly too.

Dr Ha, thanks for the tip on the harness shop. I went out and measured the pony last night and I was off by 10" on her girth !!! Geezz !!! Would have ordered the wrong size !!

good morning, got to bed at 4AM.. DD1 is coming out to get me to go to the steam show.. we will have a pancake breakfast there..

Annie brought in another cold turkey egg.. It hatched last night..#7..

A friend of my grandson called and wanted to know if he could clean my chicken coops.. He needed some cash. He brought along a friend to help.. I just drove the tractor.. they got both coops done.. then Annie fed them a chicken and mashed potato supper and she paid them.. (more than I was planning to).. I now have a large, expensive compost pile.. LOL

I have to hose down the floors yet, and re-install the windows..

I am not going to replace the roosts, though.. I am going to build some new ones out of 2x6 pine.. I figure two of them 16 feet long should do the trick. I am going to put the lower one closest to the wall , and the higher one a little farther away from the wall.. that way I can walk beneath them to clean the floor and more easily reach the wall with the shovel..

I should plane a lot of lumber, I need a lot of shavings..

hay and straw make nice bedding, but when it gets matted, it is a b!tch to pitch..

I am really getting the building bug.. I want to build my ultimate chicken coop..

DD1 should be any minute,, laterz, tonight...
