Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi all--just having a lunch break here...No Raim, DE will not get rid of mites or lice but it can work to keep their numbers low once you get a grip on the situation. I just dusted my birds' dusting holes with SEVIN this morning. It seems to do the job on the ones that use the dust bath anyhow! I think people were looking for female peacocks (peahens)

FT I used Show Sheen to get the burrs out. I like how it lasts and if they get more burrs they kind of just slip right out of the hair. (it smells better than WD-40 anyhow!

) The last woman that deburred him as a favor used baby oil. I was going to do that but we are fresh out! I think it didnt matter what I used...I was itchy for two days afterword.

Like Carol said the snake passed away. He was very small---about 7" long only.

Oh geez...I just scrolled down to look at what else I wanted to comment on and guess who just posted? Yup, that darned JIM AGAIN!

Jim--you can quit copying me any time!

OK--lunch break is done..need to go and pound in some T-posts...tired just thinking about it! Have a great afternoon! Terri O

(PS) way ahead of you guys on the feather thing...I bought a few jewelry finds and DD25 put some feathers in my hair...went to the salon and she is very interested in purchasing from me! So now I have 2 places that want feathers, they just have to use their present stock up...one place has $2,000 invested in them!

Yeah...that would pay the feed bill for ah two months?

you made me laugh.. I never thought of cutting their feathers off, but you just gave me an idea..

I only read the first page of that thread.. I couldn't force myself any farther.. I don't think that lady will be killing anything soon.LOL

Soooo sevin gets RID of them? and are the eggs still good to eat? what will get RID of the little frickers?
Thanks

oh and the peacocks are male and IDK if he wants to SELL them or give them away?
are we talking about the peacock feathers that people are selling? if so I know whos getting those peacocks! lol

Good evening! Oh ne H&R--Jim was talking about the practice of adding feathers to one's hair! They call them "feather-locks" and they are very expensive at the salon. I am surprised your daughter hasnt asked for them yet! When I walked in with mine my stylist said, "you got feathers in your hair? I do that!" Yeah...for 30 bucks!

So anyway, nothing too new here. I flew my pigeons for the first time tonight and thought they would go to roost with the birds like they always do...yeah right! Two are in and the rest (3) are in the trees with the guineas! I will have to go outside and see if any more went in before I go to bed...I hope they dont become owl food tonight! I had a duckling that was draped over the fence this morning...everything gone buth the legs and back half...I think it was still warm.

Well--DH just brought dinner in--finally. I MIGHT eat something. Guess it was way too early at 6 when I suggested grilling something...now I dont know if I should eat or go to bed!
Sweet dreams all....Terri O

Terri... that was so funny. I was scrolling through the pages since I last posted and saw your pic of that baby and said to myself..."That looks like Terri's Abe....

TO wrote: "Elaine...yes your roo is adorable! So it would be OK if you had him in the house? I had a house roo for three years and I loved it! If you really like him a lot you should just keep him then I think. Charlie never seemed to mind living in the house; especially when he got to sit on my lap and share lunch! I took him outside in summer so he could have some sun, he even went to a few places with me in the truck! Just think of it like a pet parrot...without that nasty sharp beak! Yup--I vote for house bird! (sorry I am not much help!)"

Hey, Terri, thanks for the support but if I tried to make my little Roo a housepet, my husband and son would disown me and me and the little roo would become homeless!

I'm making peace with the whole idea of giving him up. I've had him in the garage & now the house (in a cage) since yesterday and am spoiling him rotten. He's the first to get a handful of the waxworms I'm raising and all kinds of other treats. I believe he'll be leaving here tomorrow. It'll be okay -- I know he's going to a good home with lots of other bantam hens so he should be a happy boy! I'll try again next year -- maybe....

Hubby and I took the boat out for 2 hours of fishing. I caught 15 babies: smelt, rock trout, sun fish & blue gill. None were keepers. Hubby caught 2 bass, 12" & 13" neither big enough to keep so it was catch and release tonight. It was a beautiful night to be on the water!

Have a nice evening, y'all.
Elaine
