Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Saturday Morning!

Got the Lawn Tractor fixed.... finally. Total cost (including 2 bearings, two blades): 95 bucks... Not bad. I decided to replace both bearings while I was at it. Was a JOB trying to get the pulleys off but finally broke out the impact wrench with a "caliper" type vice grip and they came off no problems... After hearing about Jim screwing his pulley up, I was REAL careful.... LOL

Been getting 4-5 eggs a day now... NICE. Bert and Ernie are still not crowing.... Really not even looking or acting like Roosters! LOL

FT - Are you SURE those are Roosters

I've got to clean out the garage... Do some early fall clean-up around the yard... Then I'm headed to camp to start cleaning up a few shooting lanes...

Have a GREAT day everyone!

Good morning, I am still on my first cuppa..
we got home from the reunion pizza party after 2 am..
this afternoon will be the sit down dinner and speeches..

Ski, glad you learned from my mistakes.. I got my $45 pulley on Thursday.. I am putting everything back together this morning..
I already pressed the bearing in.. Hell, I had over two weeks to do that while waiting for my pulley.. The blades are like razor blades..

My favorite people to visit have not perfectly clean houses, but good conversation and a cuppa or a beer.. we have friends who have house cleaners come in once a week.. we don't go there very often.. The lady of the house actually cleans the house just before the house cleaners come.. LOL

I look at it this way, If you are not a good enough friend to overlook the messy house, don't bother coming over..

TO: this has got to stop.. I also have 19 new quails.. I think mine are done hatching , for this batch.. I think one in the TV will have to be put down..

speaking of cleaning up .. I took a hard look at the yard outside, especially around the front of the garage.. I have a ton of things to move before snow flies..

the dog is barking,, must have some un-announced guests.. I hope they don't mind the mess... LOL

Ya made me laugh again Jim! I opened my computer and started reading at the time you posted. You are right...we are living parallel lives! Hopefully I will continue to have quail hatching for a bit...I have put in 3-6 eggs daily for quite a while. Of course I have no idea how many and on what day so it is a surprise every time I open the bator...wonder what "the experts" on the hatching thread would say about this practice?

Elaine...yes your roo is adorable! So it would be OK if you had him in the house? I had a house roo for three years and I loved it! If you really like him a lot you should just keep him then I think. Charlie never seemed to mind living in the house; especially when he got to sit on my lap and share lunch! I took him outside in summer so he could have some sun, he even went to a few places with me in the truck! Just think of it like a pet parrot...without that nasty sharp beak! Yup--I vote for house bird! (sorry I am not much help!)

Today is the day to help at the sheep and wool festival...dont want to go. I was hoping that it would be nasty outside...I have begun reclaiming my rock garden and really just want to work in there...besides-I dont want to be tempted by the puppies!
Carol and I are meeting up tomorrow and heading to the reptile swap in Monona. Should be interesting. I am hoping to find a little snake for my daughter, she is still missing hers.

Sure glad you guys can start mowing your lawns again...I was going to say that they are starting to look unsightly!

I wish I could just drive a machine around the house to make it look better--now THAT would be a great invention!
Enjoy the day everyone! Terri O

Yep !! I learned the hard way how to tell the Roos in that breed !! Last year I thought I had 90% hens !!! Then all of a sudden the hackles sprung on the roos !!! Turns out I had 90% Roos !! The hens (your Roos siblings haven't started laying yet either) The BR and some of the other breeds that are younger have !!!
Those Ameraucana's are SO SLOW to mature. That is why I'm waiting for Jims to lay the eggs before I get some hens !!!

Oh and btw Jim. How big of an egg were they when you hatched them. My Ameraucana's eggs aren't that big.

Shoot, now my dog is barking. Sounds like someone is here. That means it's time to get dressed and jump outside. Probably my sister who is up at the cabin in Monico. Hate it she never calls first or will call while she is on her way !! Takes me a bit to wake up and get assembled !!
False alarm, there is some guy standing out there with Chuck looking at the tractor. Think it is a guy we met that has haflingers (almost bought one of his horses) that also has quail, guineas and chickens.

TO pretty horses, to bad the potential new owner won't work out. What did use for the burs? Cowboy magic detangler or Vetrolin?
I like the idea of a ridable vacum cleaner to !! But it will have to have robotic arms to pick up and move things as it goes. And it may as well have a few extra arms for dusting too !!! An octopus riding vacum !!! Ah forget the riding part, just have one that does it all by itself !!!

We got our rider going. The guy who dropped off the pontoon did it. All it needed was to let some gas out of the carburator, must of had dirt in it. DH ET isn't that good about closing the gas cans up !!!!

TO I hope when you say your daughter is MISSING her snake that means missing as in doesn't have it any longer VS loosing it in the house ????

FT most people USe Cowboy magic, or Vetrolin has a similar product, I like it better, OR WD40 of all things.

AND the snake isn't missing.. its in snake heaven.

I am bringing back a little roo my friend gave me, she thought it was a hen.. OOOPS..
I have to run to the dump, go get my hitch off my friend's truck, then catch a nap... been a long day and its only 1230-ish.

Amyable we only have public and they couldn't deal with my kids, 1 thrives on perfection, he "cries" if he gets 1 wrong. needless to say he got a 100 on his very first spelling test that he wasn't supposed to take till the 8th day of school, he had the words down pat on day 2 took the test on day 4 and passed so now maonday will be our 5th day of school and he will be on day 9 YAY! lol in spelling only

my other child has a hard time retaining information and needs to spend more time on things then what regular school can do. which is why I decided to homeschool this year, last year they all came home and we started homework and were still doing homework at 8pm.

good afternoon, got the mower back together and mowed a little bit around & close to the house.. of course I couldn't just jump on and ride,, OH No... had to pump up a tire first.. I was off the rim so I had to rope it..

Annie said after we freeze what corn we have to, she doesn't care who comes for corn.. I told her that they could come any time , even before we freeze, and pick 8 rows and she would still have more than she needed.. she worries too much..

If i could get $3000 for chicken feathers,, goodbye flock ....
I got a chuckle out of that post.. how do you catch a rooster without injury ?? don't let it peck or scratch you, and don't trip and fall.. don't these people ever handle their chickens ? pluck a chicken with a tweasers ? come on .. why kill the chicken for feathers in the first place.. just take a scissors and cut some off..

FT. the americauna blue eggs were not jumbo.. prolly mediums..

Brent prolly cannot see well enough to type.. or read, either.

if he is any pain, he prolly doesn't feel like doing either..

H&R.. yes it was a false alarm.. I told that dog that he would be living outside if he didn't quit his lying..
