Sorry I'm not going to respond to post tonight... too pooped!

Last night (Wed.) was hectic too! My 3 oldest kids grandmother on my ex's side died. Issues with my oldest son's care taker (haha!) My youngest son got "stuck" on his way to Iowa, And I'm ready to shoot my DH!!! Last night (Wed.) DH informs me we are having company Sun. THE HOUSE IS A MESS! I've been so busy with "projects" and family none of them are getting done! Duke had issues with "the runs" and I cleaned up the messes but didn't get the spots out. I've been canning and don't have all the dishes from that done, I haven't swept in ages ( I have back issues with that) and you get the picture.... OK, I think to myself, I'll just drop everything and clean for the next few days!!!

yea right! Family issues still prevail and what dose DH do? Brig home 40 more lbs. of sweet potatoes, about 25 lbs. of tomatoes and about 12 lbs. of bell peppers.... all of which is on the way to spoiling! Now I HATE to waste food so he knows I'd go through it all ad sort out stuff for us, the chickens and compost

so all night was wasted do that!

My 2nd son is coming over Sat. to help me clean the coop and put up the new roosts. I don't have the roosts done (I have to notch some 2x4s yet) and haven't made the new feeders or waterers yet. But Sat. is the only day in the next few weeks he can come.

Duke is getting on my nerves with the whining and barking but DH thinks if he's eating and drinking and going out, he's going to be OK

I love Duke too... but...
Well, I needed to rant a bit...sorry It's that's just a part of things and I'm burning out!

On another note.... When I went to close up tonight I saw Jasmine after something under the roost. Just as she grabbed it I saw what it was... a shell-less egg! Well, when it pulled open there was a small (bantam size) dark brown egg!

Weird!

Oh, and I found a real cool caterpillar! I'll post a pic later.

Good Morning all!

FT I saw the pic of your pony finally!! SOO cute. I am jealous.
I will have to get a pic of me driving Altair (formerly Albert) sometime this weekend.
I am finally getting a few eggs again, so hopefully chucking eggs from broodies that sat on them for 4 weeks PLUS!! helped.
I did leave one set under the Jaerhon and the cochin and the silkie.

On another note a horse that Joan owned and purchased, used as a stud (once) gelded and then trained ... I found him a home with a lady and now he is at
the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation...a rescue...
It kinda pisses me off as they were supposed to return him to me if they couldn't keep him.
grrr.
I am glad he is there though, he will be their horse forever and adopted out, but MUST be returned to the program if an adoptee can't keep him.

good morning, there are more than a few quail babies in the hatcher.. today should be "popcorn" day.. (when the majority of the eggs hatch)

the turkey in the hatcher looked like it was going to die last night.. but the comotion of the quails running over it must have given it will to live.. He just now climbed over the edge of the tray and is stuck against the door. I will have to rescue him in a minute.. there, he is back in the tray..

It must be a woman thing about messy houses.. I am trained after all these years of married bliss.. I never invite anybody over ..

I finally picked up my lawn mower pulley.. 2 weeks and a few days after I ordered it. It's a good thing the grass stopped growing until I get the thing put back together..

today I have to go to the DMV and have my photo taken.. This will probably the last time for me.. 8 years from now my eyes will be too bad to drive.. I had to go to the eye clinic for an evaluation for this time.. I will have some restrictions on my license.. ie. no night time driving..= no card playing at the restaurant.. ( unless I can get somebody to pick me up)..
side view mirrors on anything I drive.. which i already have.. No big deal.. I told the Dr that I should just go ahead and get a horse and buggy.. slow going is better than no going..

It happened 10 minutes ago on another thread! I had given a bunch of wonderful advice to someone who posted that their husband just left them for another woman!! Gosh it was good advice too !!!

Gotta call my sister and find out when she is coming over !!! Going to try to keep her outside !!! She has a clean house with only 1 dog and 2 cats. And a beautiful granddaughter that can crawl on her floors !!!

To bad you and I don't live closer. I would love to have someone to drive with. That is why I am going sooooo slow !! I just started getting my dvd's from www.giddyupflix.com on driving and watching alot of videos on Youtube trying to refresh my memory about driving, safety etc. It is real hard to find a driving trainer, especially up here.

That sucks that they didn't bring the horse back to Joan. That isn't the arabian is it that you found a home for? That was yours right?
What the heck are people thinking ? Like they don't have the animals best interest at heart !! TG they gave it to the rescue but why would they have done that ??? Geezzz !! Would the rescue honor Joans request to get the horse back?

Just talked to sister, don't know what's going on and still don't know what to tell her about the pony !!! Maybe I'll just tell her the truth and have her call me NUTZ !!!

Oh PS, got our first egg out of camper # 3. I have RIR, BR, EE,Astralorps (sp), Ameraucana's. It was a small brown egg. I think the Ameraucanas and EE's are slow to mature since the ones in the tower coop aren't laying yet either.

On your first egg, I'd guess either the RIR or the Australorps. My Aussies started to lay around 18 weeks, I think?

I put 14 quail into the brooder.. they sure are tiny.. I could just about hold all of them in one hand.. the turkey is drinking and eating, so it might make it.. turkey #11 got squashed in the nest from the chickens..

I smiled for the camera, and when I quit smiling, is when he clicked the camera.. jerk !! Oh well, I wouldn't be smiling if I was pulled over, so the photo is prolly more correct as is..

FT. my americauna are what I guess they call blue ? the majority of them are mostly gray/blue.. i have a few that are almost all white..
