good morning, and what is up with byc? I just read my post that was lost last night !! and I also did not get the heads up email that there are messages on cheeseheads.. I use that url to log in.. so I had to go to my trash can and revive an old email..
I let all the birds out today and stood and looked them over real good.. they all look so fat and prime, with no molting going on.. even old Tommy has his tail feathers all in and fanned out.
the peacocks display what they have, except they won't
get their extra tail feathers until spring..
today is coop moving day.. I hope the ground is not too wet.. I have to take the tractor and back up a slope for one of the coops.. they are very heavy and I lift them with the snow bucket fitted with forks that I made just for lifting them.. makes the rear tires kind of light..
then as long as the sun stays out I am going to tackle the rest of the mess in front of the garage.
I was going to elliminate my burn pile, but somehow it is about as big as a house again.. I cannot burn it until there is snow on the ground.. and besides that is where the turkey lays her egg every day..
DrH. you saying going to the woods today made me think of a joke about a lumberjack named Dooda.. ..
....jiminwisc.........
I cannot post replies or PM, so I am going to try "edit" and see what happens..
TerriO, nice to see thay we are back in synch.. I did feed 50/50 ground corn and oats to our meat chickens back in the 1970"s.. we kept a few of the cornish/rock hens through the winter for eggs..
nice buck DrH, did you ever wonder what you would get if the camera snapped another picture just seconds after the first one?
I should get a camera.. I am sure we have nocturnal visitors.. almost every night the dog starts barking at something.. He is in the house so we shush him.. but he must be able to hear or smell something we can't.. whatever it is, it does not turn on any of the sensor lights outside .. I suspect he can hear the coyotes singing.. last night when I was closing up for the night, the coyotes were harmonizing.. then all the dogs in the neighborhood chimed in..
If a dog on the east coast barked and then all the dogs within hearing range barked, how long would it take to travel all across the land to the west coast ?
