Chilly Morning.... I prefer Venzun to any beef regardless of how it was raised. That's a shame to make cowboy beans with inferior meat Jim...It's just not right. Are you really gonna allow Annie to boss you around like that?

nice to see some faces returning even if it is only to check in!

well the verdict is in........ the furnace is 1 step away from being dead

we can make it through until Wednesday as that will be the 1st day it can be changed.....now waiting for sticker shock

thankfully the next few days will be on the warm side and we will be just fine, we are stable at 65* inside, it also helps that we are baking cookies and some of the food for Sunday!

AHHHH, my week is done! And what a week it was. I must not stand on the mats too much at work cause me legs are killing me from the cement floor. I just reheated the French fries I made at work and had them for lunch with a brandy and coke! Now how's THAT for a menu? I had DD19 pull the hose down into the pit this morning...there was a little tiny frozen part. I hope it is thawed by 4...that is when I am planning on watering for the day.

Tonight I am making "fast Fish Florentine" for supper. It is fish with mashed potatoes on top mixed with spinach and cornflake crumbs on top. It is so delicious! Well DH just got home..we are all here now...I am going to town to pick up feed and to work outside...it feels like already too much family time! Terri O

Snowing here !! verything is well covered with the slippery white sh!t.. Oh well, we will have a white Christmas, at least..

Now who is the one laughing ? I go out everyday and scream at the birds.. OK< Annie just came home from town and said that the geese were down in the neighbor's yard.. It is snowing and blowing, I went out to the edge of the lawn and hollored "come on geese" I got a few honks in answer and all of them came strolling through the neighbor's pine tree border.. within a few minutes they are all back home and I didn't have to go chase them..

I made the cowboy beans without VENZUN, and it turned out just wonderful.. PROLLY cause I am such a good cook, eh?

next week I am deligated to make 12 dozen dinner rolls for the Christmas party at the restaurant.. In exchange, I get 3 steak dinners for Annie, Ken and I..

OH !! I was just reminded of why I came on to post.. I am getting a dog.. It is one like i have been coveting for a long time.. A white flock guard dog., female, 3 years old.. FREE.
Meremma MY former boss has the parent dogs with his Alpaca herd.. I hope she works out as a good dog.. As long as she stays on the yard, , I know she is already a threat to coyotes and is good with chickens.. Now If I can just get Ken to not overfeed her and make her fat like his dog is..

She is an outside dog.. But, I know that won't last long around here.

Fish Fry Friday All... That sound delicious TO. I've never had fish like that. Suzie is gonna deep fry home made fries with deep fried Talipia. Had to go and buy some fish....I think going fishing is on my to do list.

We received about 1" of the white stuff. That's more than enough for a White Christmas SO.....you can stop dancing fm. We have enough for Winter now.

Keep us posted as to what the new furnace costs H&R. I only have a wood boiler now. My oil fired boiler is in need of being replaced. I removed it's chimney when we put the new steel roof on. I figured I could always have a new gas boiler with the power vent out the side of the house. The quartz heaters are working fairly good, however I don't think they would handle sub zero temps. Prolly gonna fire up the boiler after supper.

Oh Ya, I was gonna mention that standing on concrete just kills my lower back after a while. If i stand on it for a while, i can start to feel it and need to get off or sit down in a chair.

I didn't know that there was such a thing as life before coffee. I drink a whole pot daily. It's good for the soul.

It's a white Christmas after all and so many Wisconsinites thought it wouldn't happen. Really now, such little faith we have in the weather. I knew we'd get some, as we always do and for those of you driving tomorrow and Sunday, do be careful. I'm home, not going anywhere and definitely going to be safe

Tomorrow morning comes the fun...shoveling! Just wish we had about 4 feet instead of the couple inches out there now.

Has been a long day..... took our Irish Setter back to the vet to re-weigh her and while she gained about 1/2 pound she is lossing musle mass in her hind end

spoke with the vet and while we know something isn't right we just don't know what it is yet. Have been researching on-line and will have to talk with our vet again after Christmas.
