Just got back from a scrumptious Walleye dinner.... MMMMMMMmmmmm

Checked on the chickens with the flashlight and 3 of the 4 new ones are huddling together on the floor of the coop with the lone new one bedded down outside in a little nest she made in the run.... I guess it was too much to ask for them to be allowed on at LEAST the lower coop rail.... LOL

I'm gonna kick back, watch some TV and veg for the rest of the night...

They are by far not rich..... he works as a fabricator in a steel mill, and she works in a t-shirt shop, they save all there money for hunting, they don't drink smoke or any other wasteful habit they grow there own food and raise there own animals, so most of the money is hard earned and most all the animals they have gotten are meat animals, but they do belong to the safari club, which is how they went to Africa, they won that trip in a drawing along with the plane fair, they did however have to come up with the hunting fee of 8 grand to hunt that lion, males were 20 thousand......... the reason they got a lioness instead. It maybe illegal to hunt them out right, but in Africa, if you know the right people and pay the price you can hunt almost anything. I don't say I condone this, but given that chance I would probably also have taken the cat.

I am so sorry to disagree with this but I just cannot (in conscience) agree with this practice! I would find it really hard to associate with these people!

FT--I am with you on the weekends in May! Hey...if we do the first weekend we can have a "surprise" 50th b-day for my OM! I did give him a surprise 25th...it might be really fun! He wont suspect anything if we have it there...then our kids might come up too! His birthday is the 3rd of may. THe June one is too close to our county fair...I am taking a BUNCH of birds this year! Not to mention my plants and the volunteering in the plant booth and my superintendent duties in cultural arts...I am definitely taking the week off this year!!! No more of this trying to please everyone else...I need at least a week (maybe two) for ME!

Great on the chicken meet TOm and Sandi! I love to hear when some of "my people" get to see each other! Well, cooking went OK today and I stopped to see an old friend and then my daughter (she was having issues with past BFs) so I have been home for a little bit reading a book I picked up at the library that is entitled "It's (mostly) His Fault" by a psychiatrist and sociologist. [Robert Mark Alter] Excellent so far...we may be passing this book around folks!

OK I have family coming tomorrow for late lunch...guess I oughta fix the menu in my mind...prolly make a grocery list and head out too...*sigh* DH and girls are at the hockey game and out to dinner...wonder how I got stuck with this?

I was an AD (jet engine mechanic), and I was deployed out of Misawa too.. are you sure we didn't know each other!! LOL

Well I got parts of the stalls re-covered, the chickens had pecked and pulled the thinner plastic from sections of the stalls they are in for the winter.
I used old feed bags I cut in half, Hope it works!!

FT- I hope you have lots of painted silkies... I will take a roo on pre-order !!

I would have picked those girls up & set them on the lower roost after it got dark. Less squabbling that way, usually. Sometimes they ain't too bright unless you show them first.

The poor guy! No more snow down here. It all melted yesterday. Even better weather today despite not seeing the sun. I got the entire coop & carport all raked out & refreshed. Nice n clean, until tomorrow.

Quiet evening tonight. Everyone must have gotten a lot of fresh air today. At least I hope you all did. It was a beauty out there today. I hope it holds through the weekend. My 2 aussies backs are going bald, and their saddles don't fit as well as they do on the buffs so I took them off. But now I worry they might get cold. Can't win. Oh well. Better go. Sweet dreams, all!

Good Evening, technically Morning all !!

Just got snuggled up with my banky and laptop to catch up !!! Long day but a good one !!! Good thing I got an early start to meet up with Tomski. Turns out the neighbor was home when we picked up the chickens so had to talk to her for a bit. Then when I headed for the meet up my low fuel light came on so I had to make a detour for gas, went to Mole Lake to the Res gas station. (Good idea, it was $.10 cheaper then any place else).
Anyway, ran into another chicken friend, actually I almost bought a haflinger pony from this guy and he has chickens, so had to talk to him for a while !! He's got guineas, banties, quail and a pair of peafowl. Said they haven't produced (the peas) but they just turned 4 yrs old. Told him they probably will this year. This guy is such a nice guy !! And his eyes look just like my brothers !! I'd swear I was looking at my brother, it is just to weird !!!

Then headed to Langlade to meet Tomski. We set the time for 1 PM. I was surprised I made it in time, here's proof !!

Started to get bored so ...............

Even Buttons was getting bored, must be all of the road trips she's taken with me !! Notice she is on a new heated blanket I bought her !!! Plugs into the cigarette lighter. Got one for each vehicle !!

He made it, Just 9 minutes late !!!!

Sorry Tomski, just having fun with ya !!! I actually brought the camera to take pictures of us dealing chickens and snorten the DE !!!

But then I forgot !!

We could of had that guy who came up to us asking what was in the boxes to take a picture !!
We had a nice visit !! Talked chickens, about all of you (just kidding) and about the bash. Thanks for the hen Tomski, I'm sure the boys will like her. Now I just need to pick the best Roo for the job !!! I'm thinking if she lays any eggs within the next few days I might throw them in the bator and see what I get. They would be Lavender Spit Olive Eggers !!! Cool.

Headed to the feed store after I had Mozzarella sticks and a soda at the bar and grill with Tomski. Thanks btw Tomski !!!

And yes CC I gave Tomski an extra hug from you !!

After the Feed store I stopped at Good Will. Got ANOTHER Mr Coffee. See how long this one lasts !!

Also got a big stuffed horse for my baby niece, and a few more odds and ends that I needed like I need another Rooster.
Couldn't help but notice two young men in the electronic section with two carts full of stuff and they were looking at everything and clicking away on the cel phones. I finally couldn't resist and asked if they were buying the place out ???? Then asked if they were reselling the stuff. Yep on Ebay. On a couple of the items, one was foot pedals for a TV video game that he made over $100 selling it on Ebay. His friend does all of the listings for him and he gives him 20% of his profits.
I'm thinking GEEZ how am I ever gonna get any more good deals on stuff if these guys are doing this ???? Turns out they were just up staying at a cottage for their yearly visit. They are from Milwaukee !!! That was a relief !!! I mean seriously, they had two carts full !!! Gosh I wish I was young again with that much ambition !!!
I'm gonna start taking that DE and see if that helps !!!

If not well maybe I'll rid myself of any parasites !!
After GoodWill, went to Maynards and took back a few things that I rebought yesterday so I could get the 11% rebate.
By the time I got done it was almost 7pm. Called OM to see if he wanted to meet up for Fish Fry in Elcho, so that was good !! not Ho Made but good !
Got home, tended to the chickens, No new chicks today. One is still pipping but not zipping quite yet. I know I shouldn't have candled the others but couldn't resist. Didn't see movement in any of the others, they might be dead in the shell. Still happy with 4 paints and 2 blacks. Here are a few pictures but not that good of ones, Didn't want to leave bator open to long.

Drove myself crazy when I got home looking for computer paper and an ink cartridge. I swore the rebates had to be postmarked by tomorrow !!! After alot of swearing and stuff I found them both and was making copies of the rebates and noticed I have until the 18th and 25th !!!! Gee Wiz !!

I did manage to misplace my glasses someplace between the resturant and home. I asked OM if I had them on in the resturant, he didn't remember !!! He sat across from me !!! He must have really enjoyed the fish hey ??

I hope I was reading those rebate forms correctly without my goggles !!

This is gonna be a long weekend. Have tons of stuff I wanna get done. We shall see !!!
Oh, and I've come to the conclusion that I think the other neighbor that supposedly put a Cuckoo Maran Rooster in my greenhouse is full of chicken Poop !!! There is no way I would have overlooked that. Now OM says he told him he did it over a month ago, right after we had talked to him about getting him !! He is full of it. I think he either gave it or sold it to someone else, or ate it, which is fine but why make up a story !!! I say this because well just because.........

Anyway, this is getting way to longgggggggggggggg !!! How does Lilly the lavender sound ?????

Good Morning Everyone! Jim I was thinking just as I fell on the ice about how stupid people drive after the first snow fall. I laid there and thought oh lord I've joined them.

Plenty of fresh air and things done! Going for rye straw bedding today he said he was going to plant oats this year. The kids will love that too. The boogers and brats were excellent last night! Gotta love charcoal or wood cookin fires! TO the turner comes out Thur.

Then the worrying begins. I put the TV on the floor behind the wood stove and put a thermo in it was surprised it's only 78* but that'll work good with a heat lamp. Let Bob out this morning and found that it's windy.... and dark. Sure do like the longer days already! Bigz you know that the tractors get special attention.

Warmed them both up and let the batteries charge had to pull the Ford out to get the TV out she really wanted to go on a road trip! So we went and got the mail and garbage can. She was happy with that.

Whata trying to say? You like Halibut? I wish I had some too. Wish in one hand and....

Good morning! FT I liked your post...felt like I was right there with ya! Too bad you forgot the cam to get a pic of you and Tomski eating fried cheese! Yes CC--there is such a thing...dont tell me you've never had it? The best used to be at the state fair at one of the booths...well, when I could eat that kind of thing....

So today is the last family gathering for the holidays. I can tell the OM is thrilled about it--NOT! He is such an anti-holiday person it is not funny! He says he hates Christmas...I am pretty sure he hates anything and everything if it isnt what he wants to do and when he wants to do it!

DrH I can just see you laying on the ice and thinking that! I hoe you didnt hurt yourself too bad? Maybe just a bruised ego? Did you catch anything? I guess not cause I didnt see you here delivering fish...or did you put them in the fridge and I missed it?

I am DEFINITELY going ice fishing this year! I dont care if I have to go by myself...I did get to cast a few into the river a couple of times so now I need to do the ice thing too. I hope I have better luck on the lake...

So BigZ--I think you need to reserve the camp for us hey? If we talk too long then we might be stuck with no place to go! (and that would be a terrible thing!) If we do go with the middle of the month-I think it is Mothers' Day weekend?-I will miss my traditional Mothers Day riding weekend just to see you guys! THat is saying A LOT!

But you guys are more fun to hang out with than those horse women that I go with....I will miss having my horse though. Just give the word on the date and I will attempt to reserve the banner...again... Just checked the calendar...that weekend is the one AFTER Mothers Day. HMMM--wonder if I can camp 2 weekends in a row? H3ll, I will just camp with my horse and then meet the OM at BigZ's camp! I can take a whole week off then...yeah....in my dreams!

Carol it would be quite a coincidence if you knew Tom from the service! Really cool too! Do you guys think you will make the bash? If you are planning on going I have to start looking for another Critter Sitter! Thanks for the number on the Russian Tort! I think I am set with what I have right now...sure wish there would have been this many out there when I got the ones shipped from New York! OM just told me that the clunk you hear is the exhaust pipe on the one side. Maybe needs another support strap? I am sure your friend can show you it....

Jim--I hope your goose does a good hatch! The animals must be all screwed up with the weather as it's been. As I was walking into work I kept thinking that I would see a robin on the newly green grass! Is spring on it's way? Well, this IS Wisconsin!

We ended up with 28 babies out of 41 eggs out of the original 50 set.

Have only been reading here this week not much time for posting. Working on getting a couple units ready again- both pretty gross and dirty

We are also doing chores for friends of ours till Jan 15th- both am & pm- they have about 250 birds and 4 horses. DH thought we lost the horses last night but they were in a pature farther back so all was good. Would hate to have to call them and tell them that!

Have to get paper work done today as we are behind on that too

Morning all!
Finally I cant post!! I was having trouble with BYC loading so slow that I just gave up trying to say anything! It sucked because I had to do *gasp* dusting! Yuck! I tried to get out if it but No! BYC made me! Haha

Well the Girls are loving this warmish weather and are quite happy. They got some left over pumpkin bread the other day and are still working in it. Must not be a favorite!
The rabbits are well and I now have two off feed. Since they are quite piggie with the pellets, I'm thinking they are preggers! The due date is two weeks for the first one, but we will see how it goes. Not expecting a survival rate for the first kindling.

Anyway, Bubba aka BTB, has a date with the vet. Mawahahahahah!! It is time to neuter him! Mawhahahahahaha! I'm taking way to much joy in this since he is turning into more of a snot head male. So, hehehe, N-day, hehehe, is ..haha.. FRIDAY the THIRTEENTH!!! MAWAHAHAHAAHAHAH!!!

I'd almost feel sorry for him, but then I think of the window permafrost destruction and go back to counting down the days until NeutersVille. Hahahaha!

Well, I'd best go finish up the laundry. DH will be wanting to go do something soon and I have things to do before then!
