Another crappy, overcast, windy day here in da U.P. -
I think I might take advantage of no snow and shuffle some stuff around to better winter storage (camper, both util trailers, tiller...etc.). Move the tiller to the very back shed. The camper and one of the utility trailers will get moved further out back so I don't have to look at them all winter. I'll stage the small utility trailer so that it's better accessible during the "snowy" months just in case a good deal on wood pops up and for when I finally clean out the garage...LOL I have a bunch of 2X12's cut into 2' lengths that I place under the wheels. Don't know if it helps but it certainly can't hurt.
The four new hens are still segregating themselves from the rest of the flock... I think I will put them on the lower roost tonight, after dark and see if that helps. I should probably be searching around to make sure they aren't laying eggs in hiding spots too.
I have six nest boxes but they all seem to like to use only one... Chickens are weird.
Maybe the four new ones will adapt one of the empty nest boxes...
Cind - The only Jet Mechanic that I knew in Misawa was a civilian contractor named Bill who played bass in the little band that we had formed. I was there during 79-82 and then again from 87-88.
I guess I should get going - I may head up to camp to check on a few things after I get done shuffling stuff around.
