good eve, just had chicken pot pie for supper. real pot pie, ho-made.

going to watch the football game.. nobody cares who wins, and the players just
take it real easy.

I spent a lot of time figuring out photos today.. still can't figure out how to post them here.
I get to the part where it says something about computer. click it and nothing happens.

I tried to do the thing whe pictures on byc, but i could not get that to work either.

So jim, first of all do you have pictures saved on your computer ? Or are you putting in your camera's card in your computer? Never mind, I see he left the building !! lol

To get Splash 100 % of the time you will need to breed Splash to Splash. To get Blue 100% of the time you can breed Splash to PURE Black, the reason I say PURE Black is because alot of Silkies that look black are actually Blue.
So here it the scoop on breeding Blues, Blacks and Splashes. Use the Parsons Square below

BB = Splash
Bb = Blue
bb = black

Breed BB x BB Splash to Splash = 100% Splash

Breed BB X bb Splash to Black = 100% Blue

Breed BB to Bb Splash to Blue = 50% Splash, 50% Blue

Breed Bb to Bb Blue to Blue =25% Splash, 50% Blue, 25% Black

Breed Bb to bb Blue to Black = 50% Blue 50% Black

And of course breed Black (bb) to Black (bb) = 100% Black. If you get anything other then Black when you breed them together means they were not True Blacks unless of course they both carried the resessive lavender gene then you could get lavneders.

So anyway, short story long that is how it works. Hope I did those right, don't want to make it clear as mud !! lol This is the simple version. Dont' ask me any more then that !! I"m lost, it gets alot more complicated when you start talking black alle(sp) ^ and a bunch of other weird things that can make a chicken look black but affect the outcome color. Genetics Ahhhh, wish I would have paid attention in HS !!! And whites, that's a whole different ball game !!

so---does this square work for all blue/black/splash birds? ie: marans, amaracaunas, etc? thx--genetics was so 70s for me! TO--typing with one finger while eating dinner!

Made Lefse today. It all started with my 9 yr old DS Wisconsin History book. They made a statement in the book that some of the early Immigrants to WI were Norwegians and they would make this bread called Lefse and it was made from potato flour, fat and milk....... Potato flour????? Where on earth were they getting potato flour from? I have never heard such a thing..... so I thought I would show the kids exactly how good old-fashioned homemade Lefse was made.... with riced potatoes. They all loved it and asked me if I would make it again and more often! Shooting myself in the foot with that one.....

Ok, I'm officially in the "not likin' the new BYC" camp! Tried cutting & pasting & it locked my 'puter for at least the 2nd time.

For like 5 freakin' hours!!!!! Last time it recovered, this time... NOT!

Kris, I recommend black aussies highly. They are extremely docile and are laying machines. And they are great mommies too.
