Awwww, c'mon! I was just the first person brave enough to say something.

But at least you admitted that your mind was rolling in the gutter right next to mine.

I'm sorry, Apyl. I didn't mean that you should change your avatar. Just ignore me. Everyone else does, right Jim?

Elaine, I completely understand. My whole neck is wired together. Not a comfy thing at all. If you could get some plants to TO sometime, I could get them from her. Otherwise, just PM me your addy & I can shoot you an envelope in the fall. Whatever works for you is fine with me. Thank you!

Bf4, patience, grasshopper.

It's all good, I had to lol since you said something I kept thinking the same thing everytime I looked at it. lol

Yeah...lost that post...so what I was saying was that I didnt have my mind in the gutter with your avatar Appyl...I just figured they were cuddling!:

And now I am going to bed! Terri O

They're very cute. Yeah my dogs cuddle but only when they're really tired. Normally the puppy is trying to chew on our older dog and he gets all annoyed and growls.

Ugh these coyotes are bad around here. I have to walk my daughter down to the bus with a gun this morning. We live in the woods about a 1/4 mile from the end of the road (we're on a dead end). The last two days the howling and yipping are getting really close and driving the dogs nuts. Boy I can't wait to get a vehicle so I can just drive her down. lolWish me luck lol.

Well that was fun. Pure ice road, wind and snow, and no coyotes. I hope everyone stays warm today :)

Good morning! Ging to take care of the person I forgot yesterday...I feel so bad about it too. She was OK though, said she would do her laundry instead. I am just cleaning her place--no big deal. Maybe that will give me the impetus to work on mine when I get home? On a roll ya know?

I'm pretty sure coyotes aren't going to eat your child. Lol.

Well of course not; but maybe it's a little girl and she would be scared! Those things can be kinda bold too--almost like a dog.

So its snowing here, just really fins stuff and still 30 degrees. I heard on the radio that it was going to get much colder. I wonder when that is supposed to happen? The county guys must be bored; they have gone by twice with the plows already. Didnt seem like they had the salter running either...tax dollars at work.

So this weekend I will candle the eggs to get rid of the clears. I have to wait until DH is home because he has the good flashlight with him at work. It is a tiny little thing but works really well. I will get the set-up ready so it will go quickly. In a week I will start to get the eggs fr the Sunday school to hatch. (quail) I hope they plan to keep them until they are big enough to go in the basement! I really dont want quail AND chicks (if any hatch) in my living room! THe dust is bad enough without having them too!

CC I should give that ad to my neighbor...he has a ton of really old tractors...could use the $$ to I imagine! So are you wanting to hatch some of Terri's Famous Barnyard Mixes too? Or are you thinking of trading off our roos for the Foolish hatch? If we are going to do that we'd better get it together and get it done! I think I am getting another Dom hen from Carol so at least Moose will have two....

Cidn--did you take any pics of the cake? I made a HM angel food one time years ago...cant say I was impressed! I grew up with box cakes so I am used to that texture...not that it matters any more though! My favorite cake was a chocolate angel food with whipped cream (chocolate) frosting and heath bars sprinkled over it. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it now...Mom would make it every year for my birthday. Did you frost yours, have it with fruit, Icing? How did DHs work friends like it? Man, I am full of questions and wanting CAKE now!

Maybe I will get out the GF flours and attempt one later...

Last night I made that Pad Thai and it was so delicious! The noodles were not soft enough...I soaked them 4x as long as the bag said and even microwaved them to make the water hotter...maybe they were old? It had shrimp, chicken and eggs in it. I modified the recipe a bit (of course) and added a half bag of fresh spinach and some mushrooms too. We ate every bit! The recipe came through on my email yesterday morning and it looked soooo good I had to make it. [and I had all the ingredients too!]

Guys, what you do to get this site right away is to put the icon in your tool bar! I put the one that takes me to forums I have posted in and then one click to Cheeseheads (my last post) Then I dont miss anything! Alternatively, you could just put the Cheesehead page in the bar; but then you'd have to scroll to find your place. THat is how I used to do it before we had the handy "threads you have posted in" page. I love my toolbar! Has all the sites I go to so I can just go right along it and see what I want to read. I hardly even get to my email any more...

OK--I better get myself to work...have a fantastic day and stay warm! Terri O

Yeah well she was terrified. We just moved to the woods last year, my daughter before now has only lived in the suburbs and walked to school on sidewalks lol. So yeah I did it to make her feel safe. Personally I know coyotes are not going to eat my child.

My daughter is in 4th grade and not use to the woods, and the days my son go with her he's only in 4K so they get spooked kinda easy. And I agree, they can get kinda bold. Where we use to live the county put a $15 bounty on them because they were coming up in peoples yards and snatching pets even with the people outside.

Morning all
Well mother nature is being pissy this morning......it's blowing like a mad man out there and snowing pretty good here looks like we got a couple inches so far, but hard to tell it's all piled up in drifts already. Hubby will have to get the plow out later today to dig us out from under the huge drifts the wind always leaves us, even if we only get an inch of snow, it seems like alot because the winds just through it in huge piles right on our steps outside the door, because it blows so hard through the back 40 it blows right over our house.. It's only 16 degrees, with a 20 MPH N/ NW wind... with I think about 35mph gusts.....arggggg Can't spring just get here already.!
Chickens are not happy about this weather either, they are locked in the coop today so it doesn't fill up with snow ..... poor babies Barn dog isn't so happy too she is locked in also so I can keep the big overhead door shut. Horses don't seem to care too much as long as they can stay out of the wind. I'm thinking is the wind keeps up like this it's gonna be 10 or 15 below tonight. BBbbrrrrrrrr
So stay warm everyone and hope ya don't have to shovel too much......... Kim

APYL, the Coyotes here are quite bold I have seen them in my pasture very close to the house, and they take the neighbors chickens right in front of her, she'll be putting out hay and 20 feet away they'll run off with a duck, or chicken, they have even went in her barn and pulled a momma turkey right off her nest. They are much braver also at this time of year, not alot to eat out there for them. I doubt they will hurt the children, but I would be watchful, a growling belly makes them way too brave, and I have seen a couple huge males out here that approach a wolf in size......I have 1 in my freezer..well the skin anyway, and I didn't weigh him but I think he went about 55 or 60 lbs..he was huge. I also think they can get 75 lbs if there eating good....

I've had hawks and falcons take my chickens while I was outside. Doesn't mean they're going to try to get me. I just think bringing a gun is just encouraging the irrational fear of a child. Being from the suburbs this is a new, scary experience but we're all much more likely to get attacked by someone's pet dog than a wild animal.

Morning all!!
Not much going on here so far. The Girls are not to happy with the snow falling but they are making due and getting to some serious dust bathing!
Valerie laid her egg so no crankie broodieness for her!!

I ordered if off ebay on Monday or Tuesday. I got a Hova Bator Genesis 1588. Whhoooo Hoooo!!! Can't wait to test it out!!!
It is slick! All temperature controlled with a humidity gauge.

Cind-Yep, I think I live on the epicenter for Evil Sock creation. I also have two dogs that "protect" the household from them. Gracie abducts and leaves them out to die. Sometimes with the really evil socks, she gives them to her accomplice Fred. He takes them under the bed, tortures them, them kills them. Actually, I think they are sock serial killers and need to be profiled by the team on Criminal Minds....

CC-your dh is funny! "Too stressful indeed"! LOL!!

TO-cute pupsters!!

Well, I'm going to go take some more pics of the baby buns...Mawhahahahaahhhah.....
