Afternoon all!
Got up really yearly to do my morning chores so I could get to the super market early. After a certain time, the place gets full of people who love to run over other people. It's crazy scary to I shop early to avoid the loonies...

CC-*sigh* Miss CC, you need to come to terms with the fact that you have at least 3 roosters...maybe 4...

I'm sure when we are at the bash you could slip some in FT"s truck or car and she will never know until it's to late to go back, and they can go live on her Rooster Rescue Ranch.... I'll distract her while you stuff the little roos in her vehicle....
They sure are some beautiful Uglies....Love the Austraiques.

DD visiting, you figured out your chunckie wood dilemma and BYC is emailing you again! Congrats to your DD on her vet career path. I had the great honor of working for two very fine vets that graduated from KS. Whoo Hooo!! Will she be a Large Animal, Small Animal, or Exotic Animal vet?

BF4- OMG that is one cute chick! I love the pic where she is looking right at the camera. She looks quite at home perched on DS shoulder!!
FT-See, it's you...you mention that the new hatchees are "he's" and hence they turn into roosters.

Try calling them she's and then you might get hens....

Well, then that's a good thing. Seeing as you have no roos, you can take a few home with you too. I'm sure FT would just love to distract you for me.

Judy, I had a friend as me today if I knew anyone that had a barred rock rooster she could buy. The one she already has can't handle all of her hens. But I guess he's aggressive, so I'm not sure yours would do so well there.

I'm also looking for dun laced wyandottes, why are they SO hard to find?

But alas, since I technically can't have chickens, no roosters for me! Plus my Girls are all foot loose and fancy free enjoying their "No Boyz Alowed" Coop. They made an exception for Kiwi, but he is 1) a rabbit and 2) they love his cage to sleep on and 3) He ignores them.

On a little afternoon break. I took a couple of pics of my new baby today...

Nothing cuter than a baby goat...well, maybe a baby pig...you can see that this one has the swelling on the neck area too. I did some research and it seems like it is "Milk Goiter" and it goes away by itself....we shall see.
Here is this weird egg I am getting...I have been getting this one and a light blueish one from the coop where there are "no" colored egg layers. I also found a nest in the barn today with 2 blue and 2 brown eggs! What is going on???



Now this made me really happy to see...watch, she will lay a BROWN egg!


THe guinea nest has 4 eggs now!~Back to work for me! I hope everyone can enjy some sun today! Terri O

BBP: I have someone that has been faithfully emailing me weekly to check in on Wally and would like him....he would be replacing her last BF Roo that died. She has a ranch where she raises goats, dogs, chickens etc... However, I'm struggling with giving him up-and he is kinda "chicken" (Pun intended) as even some of the girls can intimidate him.

TO: My daughter is having the same issues. She begged to stay home today stating her stomach hurt every time she eats.....She has missed so much school that I told her since she doesnt have a fever and isn't throwing up she had to go-she then spent over an hour in nurses office (Feeling like a bad mom) now Im wondering if she injested gluten somehow as well. Being diabetic-if she was getting sick, her blood sugars would have jumped-they haven't... so the only thing that makes any sense is gluten in her diet.

Also-let me know what you figure out with the green and blue egg layers-maybe we can start a new strain of colored egg layers!! LOL Me with my top hat mix....and you with...._____Hmmm? You said possibly top hats as well? Wonder what would happen if we breed them back to a top hat/EE'r mix?
