Good morning! So Cayugas lay BLACK eggs? COOL! I didnt know that either...I guess that would shock someone used to getting a different color! I had much to say...but then got a PM from MLH.....guess who's getting a couple of modern games tomorrow?????
I am excited! There was no sound coming from the bator this morning...I was hoping to at least hear some peeping...they are not "really" due until today at 2 or so. I hope more hatch...but what is this he doing out on Saturday already? I sure hope my temp fluctuation didnt kill those wheaten eggs! It is very hard to hatch with a bator in this house because our night time temp is 10 to 15 degrees lower than day time!
So let's test my memory and see if I can remember what I was going to say....
still thinking....
yeah......
Aha! Welcome to another Joe! We did a horse show in Arena...cute little town. My SIL's parents live right near there too. If that is your place in your avatar it looks inviting. We all want to know what you have...so I will be the one to ask! ? Check out the bash thread...you dont want to miss that!
it is coming back to me slowly...no CC I did not get the Dom hens yet...Carol has them in quarantine at her place and last I heard, she had heard a sneeze...
(I think)
Jim--when will you know if Nora's breeding took? Will you be doing an x-ray to see how many pups or are you going with the "old fashioned way" of wait and see? Know anything about your geese yet? Are the babies really sebbies?
There was something else...BL4 and Angie about the Milk! YES! From what I have read the ends of the villi have the location that produces lactace to digest the lactose in milk; Since that is the first part to dull in Celiac, an intolerance of milk is a FIRST sign of the disease. As your heal you can generally begin to drink milk again! Milk always made me feel slightly ill even as a child, but I drank it because my Mom told me I "needed" it for strong bones....yeah, what the milk marketing board has drilled into our heads....Sooo, I really do not have a problem with milk, I like the taste, I love ice cream and cheese, but it is a mental thing with me. After reading that we are the ONLY species that drinks milk as adults and the only species that drinks another species' milk....yeah, it's a mental thing! Now when I worked at a dairy the farmer always encouraged us to take fresh milk right from the bulk tank. I think he knew that if we were planning on doing that we were more careful with the cleaning of the cows before milking! Thus resulting in a cleaner product in his tank. I only took milk home when the tank was empty when Deb and I started milking. Then I was sure none of the 3rd shift milk was in there...I really didnt trust those teens and what might have gotten into the tank. I LOVED to drink that milk! Especially right away cause it was about 36 degrees and almost froze your mouth! It also made the most delicious yogurt and cheese. So now I dont drink it any more. I do like the taste of almond milk though...it is great on cereal with none of the "mind games" for me!
So I cant remember too much else...maybe I got it all. Now I think I need some eggs and cheese curds for breakfast! MMMM--my new obsession! Talk at ya later...and as always; Have a fantastic day! Terri O
