Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good evening--got home late from looking at horses with Carol. I will post a couple pics tomorrow.. Too tired right now and I have to go out and lock up yet! I too am tired of this hot then cold weather! I just want to get the winter clothing out away so I can stop living out of bins and totes!

MLH-your little E sure is a cutie! I hope he just has a touch of "doggie flu" and is better soon! BIgfam, the report of the little baby made me really sad. How terrible it must have been to see him and know he was gone...and to have to deliver him too! AACK--what pain!

Man I must be really tired...I cant remember what else I wanted to write...it was something to Angiebubs...HMMMM...guess it is gone! Maybe I will remember it tomorrow!
Gotta go out...then sleep! Sweet dreams all! Terri O

They pee wherever they can get it! And it rubs off on the does. Another consideration is they can also get "protective" of the does.

Hi All!

Taking a break, then a little while longer working on brooder pens... still hoping to get some to hatch

Turkeys are suppose to show up any day now, thought she would have called already. DH forgot to leave me the number of the gal with the roos, so I didn't get out there today.

DrH... sorry to hear about Brownie, one of my first PR's Tiny hasn't been doing great either

croop issues. They are so friendly hard to not like them!

Congrats on the hatches! (and pups!)

Sorry about the illnesses... how's the chicks?

About an hour ago Rudy wanted out BAD! He was even barking at the back door! When I let him out he flew to the back then fallowed his nose all along the side fence to the wood pile. He searched that real good, fallowed the fence to the back again, then must have been satisfied whatever was gone. Good Rudy!

Will save fertile eggs for firm orders for whatever your eggs are needed for. Otherwise will sell as free range, fertile (4 roosters to 18 hens) for the best eggs you have ever eaten. On farm pickup only. Jefferson, 920-two one zero-6028.

Will be teaching a class in Jefferson on backyard chicken production in May. Call for details!! May have new chicks (dual purpose breeds) at that time too.

Good Morning All! Hoping for a no drama day for everyone! MLH hope Emdog improves along with Ramese CC. MLH that BTB sounds like a real hellion can't help but laugh at his antics. Cool pics everyone! FT I pee pretty much where ever and when ever I want and try not to get any on ME! Told my mom that I bought this place so I could go anywhere I wanted. I too wish this weather would level out. going to spend most of the day in the garden. Went out and looked at the wood I made last year and think it's dry enough to move into the shed then I can start making next years wood. Want to get the boat ready too. Need to take the 20hp motor in for insulators. Want to get that running for exporatory trips on Nokomis this year. The 9 1/2 isn't big enough for that. The kids want to do supper this weekend, that's always fun. Cind no movement yet in the bator. But it won't be long, hope I make it!

already have to recharge the flashlight.

Morning all

Well yesterday I had to cull another chick. It was doing so poorly, and it did have the most disgusting watery poo. Ugh I HATE being the one to do it!!!!

I did have one that looked to have improved.but he still didn't want to eat or drink, so I was forcing him. I'm crossing my fingers he's still alive when I go check on him. I didn't see any new cases, or at least any sever cases. There was quite a few that looked puffed up and a little slow, but they shook it off when I came near. A major clean out occurred. All old chips out. Got a sanitizer they use for udders, or egg washing before sale. Oh my gosh! I thought it would be gentler than bleach water... WRONG. but everything, every surface in that brooder was sprayed. I let it air out for a good long while before I put new chips in. Hung the feeder and waterer, so it's MUCH harder for them to sh!t in them and spread this. Medicine in water. Also put floragen probiotic in the water.so either they will all be good when I get out there, or all dead. And honestly, I'm tired, if they're all dead I'm out a bunch of money but I'll survive. Chicken math will save me I'm sure ;)

Ok.. I've got to get these kids ready for school!

Good morning everyone. I'm sorry to hear about all the losses , just horrible. Welcome to all the new people. Love all the pics.

Well we woke up late again today. Good thing we only live 5 minutes from the school. Its pretty sad , the kids have to be at the bus by 7:15 but school doesnt start until 8 and we only live 5 minutes away. Then for the trip home it takes the bus about an hour and a half to get them back home when they ride, since getting the 2nd vehicle I just pick them up. I picked up some straw and cleaned the coop, boy I need to find somewhere else to get straw. I checked craigs list before going to TSC but everythings to far. Oh well. The chicks are now 7 weeks old and the ducks are 6, 5, and 3 weeks old. Everyone is doing great and since free ranging I've only had 1 loss so far, a runt silkie drown in the duck pool. I want to dig a pond for the ducks but I need to figure out where I want it. Out of 6 Rouen eggs I only have 2 that are doing anything, and out of 13 guinea eggs only 2 are doing anything. So looks like my first hatch isnt going as planned. I just hope these 4 hatch. Lockdown is Saturday for me so I'm crossing my fingers. Well I guess thats it for now, time to get the kids ready to go.
