Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

EL & MLH Happy Anniversary to both of you. We got hitched in Vegas too, 8 yrs ago. I choose the CandleWood Wedding Chapel because it was actually a little church and had a little old man organist. Beautiful little chapel. It was across from Circus Circus. Whooppee Goldberg got married their and I believe Kelly Rippa. I think they tore it down now, so much for going back to renew vows !!!

We ALWAYS get asked if Elvis married us!

Uh...no. :) We got married at the Chapel of the Bells. It's actually the same place my Mother in law got married. :) So it kind of had significance. MIL took us all on a trip there. We were engaged before we went to Vegas and were poor and struggling to come up with the money for a wedding so we just did it while we were there. Then we had a real wedding when we renewed our vows on our 5th anniversary.

Nice Afternoon All... Oh Frenchie, I love all you care for FFF....when you eat enough that you have to untie your shoes, then you got your $'s worth....I bet they hate to see some of those big kentucks walk in hungry, and leave full!

You can be the next bestest bf4....CC is the chicken whisperer...ever hear her whisper?

I am setting eggs, so it is time for a break, although I barely just got started..

while searching for guinea nests, Annie found a peahen sitting on four eggs in the pine windbreak along the driveway.. today we robbed those 4 eggs and left a guinea egg in the nest that was there.. then we robbed the guinea nest of most of it's eggs. we were scolded severely while doing that by one of the guinea hens..

I just set 40 more guinea eggs.. have 3 1/2 dozen chicken eggs from Brian to set.. then 10 turkey eggs and about 3 doz of our del/BR eggs..

I turned all the Barrocks loose today.. I took a long hard look at that rooster.. sorry, he ain't no BR.. I will have to try again after I get a good BR rooster..

Annie accidentally turned all the new red stars loose.. so it will be another 3 week wait before I can put the rooster with them.. help like that I don't need..

the hatch is over,, 46 out of 58 hatched.. the chicks are doing well.. the turkeys are doing their usual mortality drill..

I have to call for my talksalot friend next week too!

Had to wait for them to come home to give me the scoop BigZ. They were hunting in Waupaca County West of Iola over by the Portage County line. They made it out into the woods around 5, shot the turkey around 7:30. The bird weighed in a little under 20# and had a 9" beard. My DD said she had a lot of fun, so I am thinking she might be trying this along with the deer hunting.......

I have a houseful of teenagers now, watching movies so cannot sit on here too long.

One of my Budgies died today, I think she was egg-bound. The kids said she had blood coming from her vent. Poor baby. The other two numbskull ducks are still out there doing double duty with the eggs. I'll check in a few days to see what is viable out there..... hopefully taffy is not adding eggs to the pile!

TTFN!

Impulse buyer...

I got a BO today. We went to a swap and the kids asked nicely for a new chick and they had either Red Links or BOs. I took home a BO and then a friend posted online that he had to get rid of his chicks and hens. I am getting a Dark Brama from him to keep the BO company.

Darn impulse buys. Just after getting all of the chicks out of the house.

Been a really snowy, rainy day all day. The peeps are really getting big in their new home and enjoying it out there, I can almost see them getting bigger day by day! The only frustrating part is my Marans. We are nearing week 4 and I can see some combs developing on 2 and not on the other. I guess it was too much to wish for all hens. I was really wishing for a Blue Maran, but it turns out the only one that may be a hen is a Blue Copper Maran.

I guess that is how chicken math works...
