So I will go down Friday. Guess the chickens will have to eat eggs tomorrow. Not going to do a 60 mile round trip to get food for one day.

Hey strangers! I'm only on page 2057 as far as reading goes, so if I missed anything critical that happened recently, I am terribly sorry. It's been a busy couple of days around here. Yesterday was so beautiful out, I tried getting as much yard work done as I could before we had to leave. DH's one band was playing at the Denoon Saloon last night, so we had to lock up the critters early & leave by 6. Yeah.........right. They were having nothing to do with that one. Did I mention it was absolutely beautiful weather? It didn't help that the rabbit was out running about too, in our recently expanded huge run. I'm kinda glad it rained today, otherwise I would have half expected the run to have suddenly shrunk back down in size.

Today we had to take Ramses in to the cardiologist to get more ultrasounds & bloodwork done. He had more fluid around the lungs again that they drained, but they didn't have to sedate him for it. He just sat there perfectly still until they were done. The vets all thought he was such a good boy, again. So we have to up the meds again and hope they don't react negatively with his weakened kidneys. On the plus side, his elevated liver values last week all went back to normal levels this week (phew!) so no extra meds needed there. All in all, he is doing pretty good and can now be seen in 2 weeks instead of every week for now, and then hopefully that will increase to monthly & so on. He has been feeling & looking more like his old self, so that is great too.

Oh, and there was a little suprise waiting for us when we got home.

I am thrilled that tonight was the last night for the kids' AWANA group! They are now finished and I have Wednesday nights free again! Yay! One less day of running! This is a pic of my kiddos I took this evening. I'm so happy to have a working camera aside from my cell phone again! My little pocket Nikon quit working in December and I just got it fixed. It just needed a new battery apparently.

Language lectures from the chicka who says F@ck on here????

Why did the people who sold them tattoo them right before you picked then up? Were they always going to tattoo them or is this how they keep track of where they go?

My kids are asking some of these questions.....

They tattooed the registration numbers into their ears so I didn't have to have a vet do it. They also had just gotten the paperwork with their numbers back. If you're going to show them, they need to have this done. I have no idea why green. And I don't knw why the whole ear. But since I like a little ink myself, it think my goats are cool like that too! Btw... Up to 5 Orps now... Only one lavender, one Black Lav/split, 2 gold laced, and one mystery Orps. I cannot find the marking on the egg anywhere!

Thanks every one for the input on the breeds. The breeds will never be for show , I like easy demeanor type of breeds. The 2 breeds I really had my heart set on was the Plymouth rock and the wyandottes. I think these 2 breeds look so beautiful , my god I am gushing over a chicken as a dude, this is not right

I just was so amazed on how fast the fleet farm thing is I assume most are bought for meat chickens and a few for hobby farming. I waited 2 years to do this and spent a year researching so it kind of tears me to take red stars or another breed when my heart goes the other way.Ps My daughter sure gets locked in the coop a lot , but she does have strong lungs for yelling.

Dyno, I'm a soft spoken gal, and I rarely say what I think, but I hope you don't settle. I know with all the lovely folks on here, someone will have what you're looking for, or know someone who does. I am new as well, and spent lots of time researching breeds. Now I just want a few of everything LOL. So take a deep breath, say a little prayer, and see who pipes up in response!
