Oh Apyl, I forgot to say I really liked your pics. On the wild leeks, check to see if they have purplish/burgundy stems. Wikipedia says they are "often with deep purple or burgundy tints on the lower stems". HTH

Harley is a handsome & gentle 14 yr Tennessee Walker gelding. Used as a western trail horse. I purchased him in Indiana last fall for myself, he belonged to an elderly man in his 80's who passsed away. Harley goes out willingly alone or with others on the trails. Smooth gaits and canters easily. He was ridden regularly. He does not spook, goes over bridges and is road safe. He has also been camping. Stands for ferrier and vet, bathes, loads, ties, and trailers easily. Good hard feet, doesn't need shoes. Hooves trimmed regularly by ferrier. Current worming, and vaccinations. Would make an excellent beginers horse or a 4-H horse. I am only selling him due to a knee injury, I had gotten over the winter months. Asking $1000.00 or OBO. If interested in seeing him and coming to try him out please feel free to contact Alana at 608-609-0644 or email me at [email protected]

Hi All!

GR... If you move the hens to a pen they aren't used to it could take a few days to relax and lay normally. Also, if they aren't used to being with a roo, that can slow them up too.

Bf4m.... Hope it works out well with your 3 yr old. It could be you just need to find the right "key". Remember Einstein apparently, didn't talk 'till he was 3!

Jim... Nice neighbors are much better... congrats!

dyno... My DH saw a trampoline/tractor too, we've been keeping our eyes open for one ourselves! Thought it would be great for the meaties!

BizZ... Give your kitty a hug for me!

chickenscratch (cs)....Jim is looking for a BR roo.... why don't you PM him about it first.... If you live in the SE I can pick it up and bring it to the bash for him.

CC... Had vehicle issues this week so will get the chicks next week. If my son gets the van put back together!

I was feeding and watering the chicks tonight and while I was in there I left the gate open and 2 of the older ones ran out... I turned around to see where they went and thee was NATAS!!! My best hunting cat!

She was laying there watching.... one ran right up to her and she didn't even twitch! I thought she would understand they are MY chicks.... now I know she's OK with that. Not so sure what would happen if I wasn't there, but so far so good. All the cats are fine with the chickens, they walk in the coop through the pop door, but the chickens aren't too fond of that! LOL

Guess that's it for now... night all!

I'm baaaAck,,,,

wow,,,after seeing that CC gives a "test" on post/catchups I read 400 something and stayed logged on here overnight

Congrats on all the hatches, sorry about losses, nice pics everyone, hope all the sick pets are ok, hope all the sick people are ok,,,hope the hunters are ok,,,,well geeze I hope I never have to read that many posts ever again!

Busy time of the year here and yes Bigz Frontier is NOT a good company to work with for internet,,,,my only option really I just went through withdrawls for a few days as they messed around getting "my settings corrected????" ***?

Jim, nice puppies and hatches, do you actually sleep this time of year? Glad you are finally done playing in your drawers!

Bf4 heard about the mystery disease, Ann did save her bird at least so far. Makes me wonder about the use of medicated feed in a small flock,,,,so far no problems here (luck?) with non-medicated and letting these chicks be chickens. Keep mine reasonably clean, warm, and don't mess with them anymore than feeding, watering, and adding clean bedding every few days.

Got the 8 week old Marans on the dirt during the day now, the foolish hatch chicks are feathering out and active, 2 "flew the coop" yesterday and ran in the garage,,,,ugggggg,,,,pia but finally cornered them under the workbench.

Getting 20 eggs a day average still with 23 layers, selling eggs here for $3/dozen, IF I ever have extras I have a food bank that buys them for $2,,,,,a friend/neighbor just got 75 chicks for a layer flock, we'll see what that does for sales next fall.....still lots of demand in this area I won't have eggs for my summer customers unless I get some started pullets asap

more rambling to come but need to open the gh and get the irrigation tweaked

Jim are you still looking for a BR roo?

Well, I am thinking that my forest expedition for leeks and morels may need to be postponed, it is raining here and it appears that it might be doing that all day.

Good Morning All! WELCOME to all the new people! Dan I'm with ya on the medicated feed. Just think things should be more natural. It is what it is. FT I must be hitting the bottle too because what Bigz said made total sense to me. Your alright it's the rest of the world! Really honest! Cind don't give up on the stove weekend yet I'll be watching the weather as that weekend gets closer. My cat Bob comes out to the coop but won't go in. He just sits there passing judgement on them and always comes to the same conclusion. Their all a pain in his A! Bigz my time must be getting closer when my eyes popped open this morning the first thing I thought of was that I had to get my decs out and check them. I have those foam ones and they need time to open up. Hope your [Boy] heals fast! Walked out back to my #1 blind yesterday and there was one bird right where I wanted it. But suspect it was a lone hen. Didn't get a good look at it but watched it for a couple of minutes before it felt it was being watched. Man the foliage is thick already. Might have to move upstairs into the condo. Jim be nice to DAS he doesn't realize that your the hatch master..... In a tutu. Started moving the wood pile in yesterday and I pushed some brush back for a bigger staging area. I got to play with both tractors I got to play with both tractors! Somethings wrong with the smilie faces. I gotta go......
