Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I have a few extras that I would be happy to send your way! This pic is of mom and that is a chicken feather hanging from her mouth. The pics showing the younger ones are kind of blurry. I have the cameras set in better positions for tonight so hopefully I can find out how many she has. Last year they did a lot of damage. One was extremely bold. I would walk out my back door and he would be standing within 10 feet of me. He wanted one of my chickens so bad that when she was in front of my house, he hit my front room window when he pounced on her. Scared the crap out of me because I was sitting next to the window.

Wow, yeah that'd do it, DAS! Crud! Would you post the blurry pix too? I'd love to see!

Happy Birthday DrH!!!

Jeez Raim, that's intense to have an accident out front and a missing driver!

Love your new favorite pic EL!

Mazo- I'm always sad to see dead snakes too. yeah, always in the road. They're just such cool creatures.

Nuh Nights!

I'll go back and read what I missed tomorrow. I just wanted to post this

My kitties are not camera shy at all. Last year they killed all of my geese, about 20 chickens, and were killing and trying to drag off 30lb turkeys. They were here at all hours of the day and night.

wow that is an awesome population! I cant wait till I draw a tag for one! I would be more than happy to come and take one off your hands if I draw a tag!

Aw thanks all for the kind words and liking the pic. I thought it was cute anyway.

Now about the cat pics....are those bobcats?

Good evening! Same thing I was gonna ask EL! The second pic looks like one but I thought that the first one was a cougar! DO we even have those here?

One of my Uncles had a bobcat that was stuffed with it's mouth open and claws out. It always scared me as a kid...

This morning I rescued a chick from the ceiling of the coop again...I head frantic peeping and went up there and found the cutest, fluffiest little chick! She was pretty cold SO I brought her in and heated her up with the blowdryer. THen I put her in a little critter carrier under the light in the brooder with the quail and Little T. I finished chores and heard another one peeping! So I climbed back up there are found a black one. It was in better shape. Brought it in and put it with the other one. Did more chores and almost left for work without letting them out of the critter keeper! Thank goodness I remembered cause they were both panting to beat the band! THey are sleeping with the quail now and I think will be fine.
Here is the fluffiest chick:

And here is a pic (as requested) of Little T's Vulture Hocks:

OK--now I have to go and lock up. Did I say that I have 2 pips in the bator? I am exceted cause these are Aussies and blue Ameraucanas (and nothing else) so I should be able to tell them apart! LOL!
Sweet dreams all! Terri O

MLH, I had a chick that needed the hobble for splay leg. I tried a hair elastic first, which worked marginally, then I hit the jackpot with Vetwrap. It worked great! It was at least a week before the chick would walk normally. Now you never would know.

EL, precious pic!! Seriously love it, the baby looking at the chicken, with the landscape and laundry in the background. Nice!

Holy cats!

Happy birthday Doc! Sorry it's so late to post tat. Hope it wasa great day!

Libby is doing awful! I don't know if Jim was picking on me about wisdom teeth, but I open her beak today to look, and there are two tiny bloody spots in her mouth on that side of her face where the swelling is. I don't think it's her eye, but now half of her face is swollen. She also has a big lump under her jaw... Full crop? Please Lord don't make it impacted or something!

I need to get a powerful antibiotic on board tomorrow. I was going o buy injectable penicillin today. But the lady at thebstore couldn't figure out the dosage ad the needles they carry we're for cows, sheep, horses Etc. Waaay to big for a chickens.

I better go to sleep. Still at one duckling, and now one silky ameracauna...
