Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi people!

Just checking in... not much to say ....

mxm sounds like a knock in the head to me... hopefully some good rest will help her.

Glad the kitties seem to be getting better...CC... you probably know it could take a while to get the meds right.

Slowly letting Storkey take the kids out.... so cute. Jasmine still has her 14... she was not too happy when I held her while trying to count the chicks, but she settled down as she saw me pick them up and put them in "her box".

Made some Sloppy Joes for tomorrow's supper....like soup.... better when it sets a day!

Night all!

Guess what I'm getting Guess what I'm getting !!! No not the camper.

Remember a few days ago I told you all that I won 1 dozen heritage turkey eggs in that raffle for chickenstock in Idaho?

Well I emailed the donor of the eggs and asked what else they had since I don't do turkeys.

I don't want to jinkz my luck so I'm not telling. But I'm getting two different types of eggs !!! I can't wait. I will tell you all after they hatch !!! Wish me luck.

Good early morning folks

went to bed early last night, tired and sore, felt good in a way got a number of things off the list yesterday

paste tomatoes,,,,yeah I had planned on some of those this year for personal use,,forgot when I ordered seeds,,,but,,,I have a friend that does the gh thing here we trade some plants every spring so tomorrow I'll call her

CC I thought doc was the master bator? or does that title move around this time of year?

speaking of Joe, he must be old usually he beats me here in the morning

Heather as you pointed out to me a few days ago, if you want eggs for selling consider some of the production layers, these BSLs are still amazing me, plus very easy to maintain and friendly almost to a fault

Jim, I will give you a call later like your thinking on the brooder/garden beds I might be able to help ya out, I don't normally buy from FarmTek, but they are the only place I have found remnants for gh grade poly, go the "Steals and Deals" and find remnants. Worth the effort this stuff will last 4 yrs min and has the correct light transmission.

need another cuppa,,,bbl

Today is the most Gorgeous Day in Superior... and I am going to spend it inside, all day... About a month ago I volunteered to help out at a power lifting meet and today is the day. It is supposed to be mid 60s all day and bright sunshiney... Oh well. Going to go pick up eggs and look at a friends farm after the meet, she has a brace of eggs for me to put in my bator after the meet. The humidity is still jumping a bit, this morning it was 56% after I went to a damp paper towel in a jar.

I guess I will try to move things around a bit to see if that will lower the humidity.

Have a great day and stay safe,

KEN

Unk... I only like giving advice... Not listening to myself! LOL! :D

If you end up with paste maters great! If not its ok. No worries!

8 am soccer game! Gotta MOVE!

Unk... I want some heirloom tomatoes. I don't like juicey tomatoes though. So keep me in mind for a couple meatier kinds. I also like strange and unusual (go figure)! I'll be good for three plants!

I'm like that too. I don't like the sloppy wet tomatoes. I started growing Romas and using them to make and can my own spaghetti sauce about 5 years ago. We only ever had a small little 2x 8 space. So last year being our first in the country and having a large garden space I ordered all heirloom seeds and saw that there were Amish paste tomatoes. I planted them as well as my usual romas. They grew so well and were so nice and meaty that I'm not even doing Roma's this year. I have 20 Amish paste tomato plants. Not bad since it was only a 25 pack of seeds! I saw last week that one of the Amish greenhouses out near kickapoo had paste tomatoes, so you may be able to find some already started.

good morning,, 4 turkeys in the bater this morning.. I put them into the TV with the guineas..

DrH,, been a long time since I had a 4:3oAM conversation,,
or an 8 am soccer game..

The forcast looks like it is going to be mild days and not too cold at night.. I just might take a chance and plant some corn.. maybe like half of my corn seed and then plant the rest in June..

for those of you following the tale of the cockatiel.. the suspected male gone female is no longer a suspect.. Earl is now Pearl....she layed and egg in her feed bowl last night..
when Annie gets home with the nest box we will transfer all the unhatched eggs to her..

gotta go make a pot o java.. need my cuppa to get me started..

The chicken who knocked herself for a loop is still on the coop floor this morning. She shifted position. She's sitting up via her neck and looks to be panting. Opening and closing her beak. Not just hanging open like she's hot. She rather paid no attention as I drizzled sugar water over her beak and got some in her mouth. Brought her some scrambled eggs but of course she paid no heed. Think I'll find a medicine syringe and get some water into her. fingers crossed.

mx hope that hen comes around! Just a time thing now.

Hooked the pump up filled it with water and plugged it in. It took right off just like I planned it. Headin out for plants now. Those amish paste maters sound interesting we put in around 10 roma's for L's sauces. Might have to give those a try. Thanks for the tip!
