Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA so many things going on around here. We doubled our garden which meant moving our fence, tilling the grass. Got the coop built, still working on painting it, getting the flooring in. Got the new pool up with tons of pool problems. UGH I am starting to resent the pool. We had one child graduate high school and the Abby's graduated 8th grade with their first formal. Dave & were able to sneak away for memorial weekend and now we are camping this weekend by ourselves. The girls are almost 6 weeks now and still playing the guessing game of hens or roos. I do not think I have a roo but still hard to tell at this point. I am so ready for them to be in their coop!

Jim why would they flag you? The puppies are absolutely adorable!!!!!!

Out snuggling some of my teenager chicks, and I guess I haven't been giving my banty hen enough attn. So she took matters into her own "claws" and tried to fly up on my shoulder..problem is-I have a halter top on. So now I literally have red tic tac toe looking welts all over my back. I couldnt get her off and she couldnt stop sliding but wasnt giving up making it onto my shoulder lol....kinda hilarious-but oUCH!

Hi all. Digesting my dinner...what there was of it! I had a baked potato. DD26 got the chicken on fire in the frill so the inside was still kinda raw...we put it back on and they went to play volleyball.
Jim thoes pups are way too cute for their own good! I think BigZ needs one to keep his wolf at bay!
OMG--DH just got home! I wasnt expecting him until 10 at least.

Here is a pic of my newest family:

THat is as good as I could get...she went way into the back of the shed so I couldnt get any good ones. She was kind of ticked at me cause I took all the babies down from up in the ceiling in a bucket and she didnt want to come down. She is a very aggressive mama too! Thought she would scratch mu eyes out.

OK--I feel sufficiently digested...back to planting and watering. (and chasing the chickens out of what I just did!) Little brats!

Hi Everybody - I'm new to everything chicken! Question to the SE WI folks.....I'm a bit north of Milwaukee and wondering where you get your feed? My chicks won't be here for another week but want to be prepared. Thanks!

So, just in case anybody on here is interested, I am getting rid of my EE roo. He is 3-4 months old... Doesn't get along with my silkie roo, and I couldn't convince myself to put him in the freezer, though anyone that wants him can xD I think he would be a good roo though, he has a nice pea comb and beautiful coloring, could make some nice EE babies ;) I just don't want to have to split my flock up since I only have one coop.

Putting an add up on janesville craigslist as well, wish me luck!!

Evening All.... just got home from the monthly meeting at Camp. It's nice to mention Camp and alot of folks know what I'm talking about. We donated some money for Leader Boy Scout Training for one of the adults to attend a two weekend event of seminars. The leadership will continue to improve for our troop. We purchased a new backboard to replace the broken one.....alot of wood was cut and split tonight also.

Might have to go to the local pond and fill up the water jugs for watering the gardens, they are looking awfully parched. It will help until we get a shower. I don't have any material for mulch.....the maters sure could use some. How does the weed barrier stuff work? Never tryed it.

Hey nice to see you DrPurl!!!! You need to find me on FB if you have not already!!!

Baby duckies are growing like weeds! The best part is they take out after their dad.... LOL!

Nothing else to report. Got my walk in again tonight..... decided early morning is best.

Later!

Twizz... wish I could take another roo but DH would kill me. He would look nice with my 10 week old EE that I think is getting gorgeous!

on another note... busy trying to weed the garden and get ready for a huge rummage sale I am doing next week with my best friend. We do one every year and clear out our junk and stuff that the kids outgrew. Lots to sell and I want a clean house again!
Looks to be a hot weekend so stay cool.

Good evening all...pretty soon time for bed for me. Gardening tires me OUT!

You can use newspaper for mulch Bigz if you dont have anything else. We always used it when we gardened at the community site. It works really well for a weed barrier too. Just doesnt look the prettiest! Dont use the shiny sheets, just the black and white ones.

OK MLH--I was out taking some pics of the Aussies etc for my CL posting and I got this one; it looks like the twins are having a race!

They are always together along with Eli. Way cute for sure!

That's all I have for tonight....my eyes wanna close...sleepy time! NIghties! Terri O
