Bigz... I'm giving my new hens the layer feed. I am quite pleased with them at the moment because all three had laid eggs for the last 2 days! Wonderful considering they were completely uprooted and moved. It must be the f
magees feed...;)

The silkie chik I have that was born with curled toes isn't doing well. I keep expecting to find it dead, but it just won't die! I splinted the foot that had curled toes right away. In the process of that, the other foots toes started to curl! So it has a hard time walking, poor thing. It peeps forever, but nothing makes it happy. I finally unsplinted the first foot , only to splint the second. The splint fell off this evening, so I said screw it and just left it off. I'll check it tomorrow

I'm very tired so will write the rest tomorrow.

Yikes, Bigz, glad you're ok. I hope your chickens are all, too.

Must be good sleeping weather. I can hardly keep my eyes open either. An entire day out in the sun & heat doesn't help much either.

I got the coop cleaned out, mulched around some plants, planted some cukes, squash, lettuce and some herbs and did some other putzy yard stuff. DH planted a tree & a couple gooseberry bushes for me when he got home. Oh, and it felt like I spent half the day watering.

We really can use some rain too. It figures once everyone got their gardens planted that we would get a dry spell.

Oh well, time to turn in. Sweet dreams, all!

I know I want to do some major running so I've been going top of the line on sale! If you can see that you'll be wanting to commit yourself to training for a "race" I'd highly recommend shopping at a running store. I could've returned my shoes that gave me back problems last year even after training on them outside in the mud on the sidewalk no matter how much wear was on them, cuz they want your business for a lifetime! I just didn't do it cuz I flaked out and am not about to try to bring them in now. I dropped the ball. My first pair from Movin' Shoes, I think it was the 12th pair that I tried on that fit the best. The guy just kept bringing me shoes to try and I said bring 'em! They'll do everything to help you find that perfect shoe for the way you walk, what you want to use it for. They are so awesome over there at Movin' Shoes.

Lessee I think my oldie but goodies are Brooks and my new ones are Asics. Get to go out in them again tomorrow!

Ditto to everything CC said !!! I'm to pooped to reply individually tonight.

Jim those Pups are adorable !!! Reminds me of when my GP's were that young. How old are they now? Hard to tell cause they are big dogs!

I went to Magee's today. Got 700lbs layer feed. 100 lbs medicated chick feed. 300lbs duck and goose grower. 25lbs pot belly pig food and 50lbs of that calcium/grit mix. Think that's all. That's enough.

Had quite a few interesting events on the way down there and while in Shawno. I'll share later or tomorrow. I just got settled in and my arms are killing me from the drive.
Oh and on the stallion front. I gave my number to a girl who works at a BP station in Antigo yesterday. She gave it to a friend. He alled me today, he raises QH's and lives in Birnamwood. Anyway I told him I would call my neighbor and give her his number.
Well I called her and she told me they brought the horse down to their Amish friend in Bonduel and they gelded the other nut. I guess the amish guy had his whole arm in the poor horse digging for the other gonad and couldn't find it. He estimated the horse to be around 7 yrs old. He said that it is possible that the horse was gelded as a 2 yr old and at that time maybe only one gonad dropped and afterwards the one they removed yesterday dropped leaving him still a stud. Just all speculation but could be. They gave him a penicillin shot and a tetnus shot. Guess the poor guy is doing good. Outside in a pen.
I asked how much the Amish charged and she said $25. I asked if that was the amount that he just charges her or anyone and she really I could tell didn't know how to answer that. So ???? (thought it would be good to know in case I needed it done, you know when the next horse walks into my back yard LOL )
So I guess she is going to name him Left Out, or was it Left In or ???? Right In, Left out LOL

Never did make it to TSC in Shawno, decided to check out Qualhems True Value instead. They had a lot of horse stuff on clearance. I bought a new fence charger. 3 joule 300 acre, 75 miles. That ought to do something. It was $40 off.
I noticed they have Nutrena chicken feed their. Layer and chick food in both 40 and 50 lb bags. Prices not bad. Not any higher then FF. Maybe cheaper ?? Can't remember. CRS kicked in as usual !!
Ok
Night all at least for now !!
Oh and CC they are Lemon Lavender Ameraucana's. One hatched so far !!!

Hi all!

Carol.... So sorry about your friends!

DrH.... Are you sure it was a draft? Or was the hand towel just happy to see you?

Apyl.... Good thing you got that deer fence up!

BigZ.. Glad to see you! Hope you get that wolf issue taken care of before it finds your critters!

Guess not much to say... I spent the day working on a new run/shelter for the roos. I'll move them to the new space and put the youngin's in the bachelor coop (which was made for youngin's to begin with!
he.gif
Was NOT suppose to have them in there this long!

Well, Night All!

Good Morning All! Cind hadn't thought of that about the towel LOL

Farmers Girl! There are several people in your area that could help you find feed. Otherwise check the yellow pages. Bigz as you know that wolf probably won't be around long with their range. But I'll bet you'll be thinking about it everytime you step out of the door for awhile. Weird about the red velvet cake I just finished the last piece last night. Kabobs were awsome too!

I see it is now 7..... I should hit the road pretty quick here..... shock my co-worker and get there ON TIME.

DH is taking the kids on a little trip this weekend. Going to be down in BigFam's neck of the woods and have lunch with his Aunt and Uncle in Spring Green on Saturday, then continue down to Cassville. I have to work so he will be making this trip solo....

It will be surprising if they all make it back home.

Managed another 3 miles in this morning. Gotta burn off all the wine I drink at night.

Figuring out that 10x the chicks = 10x the mess. Haha. The SLW babies muck up their water container so fast, you'd think I got ducklings!
