We have a helicopter flying around...I thought it was a crop duster but I think it might be Search and Rescue....wonder what happened down by the river.....

Welcome to Binkii...did I get that right?!?! We have great people here and love to hear from everyone so hope to see you around!

DrH-Hope Bob is home!

Well, gotta go check the rabbits....

No Bob yet. Wondering if he finally met a Griz that he couldn't handle. Since I moved in here we ain't had no Griz problems, no wolverines or polar bears neither.

Binkii good folks here to help you in any way they can.

Took some empties out to the box in the wood shed and mama robin dive bombed me. Her last chick was standing on the edge of the nest ready to fly. Counted nearly 20 baby robins and mom's in the front yard almost thought they were getting ready to head south.
lau.gif
The baby's think it's so cool when the catch a bug! They get real excited.
gig.gif
Then a hen turkey came through with 3 babies the same size as the robins. Had to do a double take thought that's what they were. Stupid color blindness! Dam* my eyes! Dug around and found all that will be needed for the washer drain and elec hook up. Lots O good stuff around here. L said she would love me anyway if I hadn't got the washer.

Afternoon To All....Welcome binkii hope you visit often!

Nice to have help Jim. I could use some wood splitter help myself, due to being lazy.

Hope your cat makes his way home Doc....He's prolly just takin vacation I'm thinkin.
We didn't have any hens here during the Spring, so we haven't seen any momma with babys yet.

Forgot Frenchie...we raised Black Schnauzers and salt and pepper ones, as well as Cocker Spaniels, Sprenger Spaniels and German Shorthairs....the german shorthairs make excellent house dogs and were bred for that in Germany...just sayin.

Short rain here today..enough to have to bring the young peeps in from their outside play area.

Venzun steak on the grill tonight with asparagus and onions topped with muenster cheese and a baked tato, split with fresh basil and onion and baked in foil, and a old fashoned with sprouts.

Welcome to all of the newbies!!!!!!

Apyl, Cindlady, DrHaHa and Vickiw-Thanks for the safe travel wishes. All of the girls are ready to go. Related to the space in the car, I am taking myself (of course), my mom, my daughter, and one other child. I have no idea where I will shove our bags, coolers, etc!

Good evening! Holy cow...58 UNREAD POSTS!!!!! I opened a second window right away before reading anything...no way I could remember stuff to quote with all that to read!
So first I made some $$$ selling birds today! The best part is that all three groups showed up!
celebrate.gif
I have 10 less ducklings, 10 less week old goslings and 3 less 8 week old goslings! Oh yeah, and I found a home for the Plecostomus too! A guy is starting a fish rescue of all things! Really nice guy though...he wants to get into chickens.
I took 20 birds to the fair grounds today to get pullorum tested to show at the fair. Helped with set up too so I am good to go...also found out that "any other egg variety" can include quail eggs so I might bring them! I will If cant get enough blues to make a nice dozen. It was sure a pain to catch all those chickens though...I am glad I found out early that I can only enter 14 so I didnt have to catch ducks and geese too! I thought I would have to take 2 chocolate muskovies too but we found a spot in my entry for the cuckoo marans even though they are not on the SOP yet. (thanks for the help Cheryl!)

OK--now to start reading!
MMMM black raspberries! I make my Dad a jar of seedless black raspberry jam every year...guess I better get out and pick some! I love them on ice cream too! Mine seem to be pretty dried up though. I wonder if I can even get enough juice out of them to make it worthwhile on the jam? Maybe mix with mulberries...Good luck to your daughter at the soccer tourney! Have a fantastic time! So cool that you can go along.
So BL4...did you take the ice cream home yourself to "keep it safe"? "I really need to make some of that," she says, as she takes a sip of Rum and Coke.I am sorry to hear about your calls! I have another one missing myself...but no body so there is still hope!
fl.gif
Congrats on the new car!!! what did you end up with?

No cardgame tonight.. I guess they are all afraid of me..

.........jiminwisc........... Well JIm...I am afraid of you...and you didnt even take any of my money! I am glad that you used good judgement on that "widow maker" though! Sheesh--sho would boss Annie around if you couldnt? THose raised beds sound like a great idea...stuff grows really well in them and you dont need to bend to weed! Sounds like you will be able to garden a really long time now Jim!
old.gif

Sorry about the bad week Kim...but nice to hear from you again! So you didnt say how it went with the court thing. DH and I talked some about that on the way home from the bash. Crappy situation for sure! I hope you got what you guys were after with all that hassle!

You better watch out Dan! I might whisper those skunks right into YOUR house!

Apyl, Apyl Apyl...dont you know NOT to listen to that crap about a clean house? I am so much happier now that I dont clean mine!
lau.gif
With all these pets inside and a job and working with the outside birds, and now gardening there really is NO TIME to worry about the inside of the house. Besides, your kids will not remember you by your clean house. They will remember a Mom that was willing to play with them and let their friends come by and not have a fit. You dont want to be remembered as "The Mom that was always cleaning" do you? Tell your Mom if she would like to come over and clean she is welcome! And always remember, "
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Vicky--your chickens sound like a blast! I love when mine do silly things like that! Like you dont KNOW that it was them eating ______! Mine crack me up every day! Also dont count out getting htose breeds! I have a nice wyandotte here that is really friendly...also I have some Buckeyes from Bigz...see, you never know what might turn up for you!

Kris--isnt it great watching a mama with her chicks? I could sit out all day and just watch them! They teach them so much...I agree that they dont always pay attention to where they are scratching though! I had a mama once scratch back so hard that she actually killed the chick that was behind her! I happened to be sitting right there watching them and I think my mouth dropped right open in surprise. Now nothing they do surprises me though. If you want something really comical try a hen hatching ducklings...they almost go hysterical when the babies take to the water! DOnt do it the other way though...and dont ask how I know!
idunno.gif

Bigz--I am so glad to hear about the new well at camp! I hope it lasts for a good long time! I have experience in how costly they are. We had to have one dug a month after we bought this house!

Twizz--sorry to hear of your loss! You need for your cat to meet a few of my girls...it will NEVER look at a chicken again! I hope you got the eggs situated in your incubator...and that the goslings are good...it was great to meet you!
hugs.gif

Bigfam--I sure hope you didnt puke today!!! I cannot imagine running OR walking a marathon. It feels like I do that daily here. I am sure it is not nearly as long as a real marathon though! And I do get to sit occasionally!

I am going onto the second round of responses now...sheesh--I missed quite a lot on one day!

Cind--the best thing for a skunked dog is baking soda mixed with peroxide! Works great! Dan--unfortunately, my dogs did not aquire the skunk whisperer gene!
lau.gif

Oh oh DrH--I hope Bob is back by now...I had to laugh at your washing comment. I thought you were going to say, (we've been washing the clothes on a rock by the creek...but we hang them to dry in the yard." LOL!

Welcome Binkii! I hope you stay a while!

Oh Amy--I think I just wet myself reading that quote in blue that you posted! OMG I cant stop laughing! Guess who is copying that and taping it on the door? hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....yup--right on the door!

OMgosh I am finally done reading! I am going to post this and head out for night chores...and maybe a short ride! I will call you MLH!

Evening all
Just sitting here relaxing....seeing who stopped by....Got the rabbits all processed today. DH found an Amish boy who did it for $3 a rabbit. I held a doe back to add to the breeding stock. She is a broken black out of Callie and Kiwi and just as sweet as can be and has huge brown doe eyes. Hopefully she will make a good mom. She really got to tugging on the old heart strings. Now I have to name her... All that comes to mind is Violet or Emma, but those were chickens I used to have. So, I'm thinking if either Sierra, Sequoia. One is after the Sierra Nevada Mountians and the other is after the Sequoia Nat'l Park/Forest. Hmmmm...I'll post a pic of her tomorrow

Vicki-* I say this while raising one eye brow in a Spock like manner*-"Come on is and pull up a roost"?!?
