Thanks Angiebubs, I'm in no hurry to get rid of them. My mom would take any unwanted hens, but I did inventory the other day and I have 59 chickens! That includes 12 roosters that will have to butchered if they don't find homes. Now, I promised my husband I wouldn't have more than 12 total. And I just butchered 26 and sold a bunch. I was at about 90 chickens for a while and they free range in my yard. All you could see were chickens everywhere you looked.
I've decided not to continue breeding the lavender orpingtons. I will now be breeding lemon blue project cochins and double laced barnevelders. I may work on developing a silver barnevelder, they have them in Europe, but not here yet. Anyway, that's where my projects are headed.
Since my hay source flaked out on me we are scrambling to find hay for our horses this winter. I think we have secured 12 round bales that are 1400lbs each. Hopefully that happens. Our 1 horse turned into 3 real fast.
One of the wild mallard ducklings I took in this year is actually a black duck! Pretty cool.

Jim your right about the top link. I had thought of that like I said still thinin. I have hooks welded to the top of corners on my dirt bucket but not the snow. Or maybe there is would have to look. I'll figure something out or just say to H with it and use as is. Sometimes I think too much as my BFF says.

I stopped to check on the shaft.. It was all finished except the 3/4 x 1" bushing had not come in yet.. I asked if it made any difference to him if it was a steel bushing? He said as long as it fits..
So, I went to F&F and bought a steel one.. took it to Bill and he fit it into the clutch pedal.. AND instead of enlarging the pin holes for bushings,, he welded them shut and drilled brand new holes of the correct pin size.. and because I am so good looking, or charming, or both, IDK,, he knocked off $25.oo from the original quote..

DD#2 took me to a Chinese sit down restaurant for lunch... Very nice place and good food.. I even put on clean long pants and real shoes.. She is and always has been our "dress up" girl.. I think she was switched in the hospital at birth.. a couple of years ago I went with her to a PGA tournament.. she didn't like what I was wearing, and we stopped and she bought me new pants, a shirt and a straw hat.. See ? there are advantages to being color blind..

anyhow, I feel so clean, I don't want to go dirty myself by working on the tractor.. Tomorrow is another day.. and oh yeah, I even shaved,, in the middle of the WEEK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Annie is canning 7 quarts of tomatoes.. just a dent in the pile of maters she has picked.. and lots more out there.. I planted only Early Girls this year.. Nice hardball to softball sized tomatoes and no splits or blemishes..

maybe next year I should sell corn and tomatoes..?? I cannot justify $3 to $5 per dozen for corn.. HeII, I give most of mine away.. If I made enough $$ to cover the seed I would be happy.

Hold on to yer hats boyz! I am watchin' the game with the fam....pork chops are almost done...with potatoes, a big salad and those cucumbers that taste like lemons? I have to look them up. Most of the veggies are from the CSA stuff. YUM!

Horses are IN! They stayed in all day...so glad the fence is good. I bought a couple of things at NASCO today to add to it.

Mmmmmm had the DH make chili today... his first time making chili, and it is GREAT!

Amy, I hope you bring your camera Saturday!!!! I am going to get killed doing this Hot Mess Mud Run on Saturday.... I have not been running since that LAST Dirty Girl, I did something to my hip last week and could not run and I have been babying it this week..... it SUCKS getting old!

Anyway, I am vegging out here and thinking I might get another bowl of chili before my oldest DS eats all of it......

Good Evening everyone,
Well the puppies took another step into calm down mode, they are now safe from my Leo and realize he isn't going to eat them for supper LOL they were allowed in the house with him to play for a bit, and everyone was a good boy except Max who is now just about 5 months old and has become the humping puppy, he tried to breed Bear earlier today on our walk, and tonight poor Leo wore the brunt of his affection........... poor boy didn't know what to think, even though he is fixed he was my humper when he first came here........kinda funny the look on his face, like what the Hel, that's my old trick....get off me, silly puppy... They are still afraid of the cats, tho Max was braver tonight than he has been and was trying to play with the fat cat, until his bark scared DeBow and he ran past Max to the basement, then Max freaked out because he thought the cat was attaching....... they are certainly entertaining.

So Jim the shaft is all ready? and we are a go for this weekend? Yes if so we will see you tomorrow night sometime, and if you guys like biscuits and gravy, I will volunteer, to make it Saturday Morning, just let me know. I can grab what I need on the way up.

I would not use WD40 on any part of something that someday I may eat or eat something it might lay................ use Vaseline that is what I was read works best, ya have to smother them and any oil that is thin will not work because it doesn't stay on there thick enough........... I would rather use coconut oil but with the body temp it will run off when it warms up......... so Vaseline the crap out of them legs.
So anyway till morning all I have to go crash..... Sleep good all. Kim

Bigz, Jim, Doc and all the other fans...I am actually enjoying the game! Prolly cause it is not a beautiful afternoon outside! Just saw the first TD with Crabtree.
Soon I am off to close up the critters and then to bed though. I really should go and pick up my feed at the mill--dont really need it for tonight, and dont feel like unhooking my trailer to take the truck out either!

Dinner was delish. We had a contest to see what I put for a coating on the chips...it was rice chex crumbled into a powder. Yummy! Might have had something to do with the stick of butter I added!
