TO... Yea, as it is I tried not to look them in the eye. Ozzy, the Gold Star/ Australorp is the only one I'm keeping. He should produce some good, hardy layers. He's a big boy and was pretty much the "winner" of the group.

My mare is getting worse! I think I hate my vet. When someone calls saying their mare that recently gave birth can hardly walk, shouldn't it be taken seriously? Monday at 1 is the soonest she'll come. I called Friday morning only to get a snotty attitude. I should have tried to call someone else right away. she's off pasture, grain and is only getting grass hay for now. This is where the bad dreams come from, stress.

She most likely has a Uturine infection and should be seen now if she retained any part of the afterborth ( IT COULD KILL HER)............ Call someone else....ASAP......

BBP....... Sorry i see you think its and abscess, I hope sso, them are pretty easy to get under control, epsom salt soak or Benenite clay pack, works wonders, I never call the vet for those, just Doctor em up myself.

Sorry I have no pics for you, all I have are Black Star and a Broody Butt mutt (Oh, and maybe a pure Lakenvelder, Noodle is
starting to look that way~possible because neighbor's dominate roo is one and she has a couple Lakenvelder hens in that seriously mixed flock of hers. Noodle was hatched from an egg
taken out from under a crazy duck, remember?)

Ok, out of coffee and time to go check for eggs. Already turned them out into the run because I had to check if I still had 4 living hens. Poor little Stirfry was looking worse last night and didn't even roost but there she was this morning, ready to go out. Still not looking too great but boy, that girl is just not ready give up! Amazing.

Another busy long day! Trying to get some coffee down before I have to run to one of the local lakes and see if I can find any Elodea.... the UW uses it in a lab experiment and apparently the DNR has put the ax to selling the stuff in the pet shops, they say it is invasive (how is a native plant invasive?......)

of course we thought we could just go out and but the stuff and we need it by Thursday.....

So on top of my running to Fox, when I come home I NEED to make some soap! I have NO soap for Big Fam, and I told her I would bring some. In order to make any, I need to clear all the cr@p off the table. No small feat since it has a lot of home repair equipment all over it. I feel like I never stop moving sometimes.....

I suppose I should motivate here..... looking forward to coming home and watching last nights episode of Castle on Hulu.

yeah that game sucked, 1st half was just as unreal as that last play,,,good interviews on packers.com,,,MM took the blame for not changing the game plan earlier,,,well duhhhhh lucky ARod wasn't hurt. Not knowing how the rest of the season will play out this loss will make a difference in the playoff picture,,,and,,,,don't these temp refs know why the "review" was implemented?

Good morning everyone! God I LOVE Tuesdays! Having my leisurely breakfast of popcorn and coffee...

Yup--that's ME! We are riding at McCarthy Park today and it looks to be a pretty nice one. Spent a little time outside with the gun this morning...thought I heard the hawk. Didnt see a thing. Now that DH tells me a .22 shot can go a mile

I am a little hesitant to fire it into the trees from the porch. Direct line to the freeway...man that would suck to be driving to work and get your windshield hit with falling shrapnel! I guess I should take the Hunters' Safety course...find out that stuff!

So all the chickies but 1 that SS hatched (and I found in the barn Thursday) were gone when I got home on Sunday...she has one chipmunk left. Never found anything...wonder what got them? I have seen a sharp shinned hawk around along with the red-tail.

Good luck on the tractor Jim. I hope it goes on the second try. (the first would be too unrealistic dontcha think?) And YES--let's have some pics! Especially the one with the parts all over the lawn.
DrH I think he was just a blow hard cause those roads you mentioned are not what he said at all. The names were odd road names--sounded like back roads. He and his wife?/GF? have a spectacular motor home and hang out with Biker guys. (doesnt look like one though) I cant remember his name of course...maybe Rich or Steve? Built his house and is planning on building another and goes South in the motor home for the winter...that is all I remember! LOL!

Vicki my Tomatoes are still going yet too. I dont think that the garden has even had a frost! My house plants are still out and the basil is still green as I have mentioned. I am trying to get it in this week. I started bringing the tortoises in too but found that their pen was fouled by cats!

So I went to Menard's Yesterday for more play sand. Now I have to make a new sand dirt mix for their habitat. But first I need to move stuff around in the back room so there is a place for the plants...that little puzzle again with the sliding numbers for sure...

OK--I think I better go and get dressed and take care of critters.....then off to ride!

Oh yeah--I forgot--JJ those chicks are really in the terrible stage arent they? I like that B&W one; but I am partial to those colors on animals--wonder why all of my horses are BROWN?

And the toilet seat thing...we dont have the problem here; EVERYONE closes the toilet. I hate the look of an open bowl and this way it keeps most of the dogs and cats out. Of course I have a couple of BCs that lift the seat with their noses...too smart for their own good I say!

What was the other thing....oh yeah the ACV. I just buy the Food club stuff, open it, and let it sit. it gets some cloudy stringy stuff in the bottom after a while...dont know if that is the actual "Mother" but the other stuff is way too $$$ to pour out into waterers! Cind or anybody--any opinion on this...could it redevelop the Mother?
