Looks like the mini bash was a success. Wondering if we planned a bash for over on the MN/WI border for next spring-would any of you from SE WI venture over/up?

good news and bad news.. I put the REALLY CLEAN carb on the Oliver.. It started right up..
then It quit and I couldn't get it to pop.. ate supper and read the book about governer linkage. went out and set the governer.. still no pop.. checked for gas flow.. Nada,, WTH ? disconnected the gas line,, Nada.. more WTH ? looked into the gas tank with a match, (just kidding) use a flash light.. BONE DRY !!!!!!!!! tomorrow I will go get a can of premium gas.. Ron said to not use ethynol gas.. It could eat up the rubber tip on the needle valve at the float..

I sold one barred rock and one Delaware pullet today..

we have 32 roosters waiting for Saturday in the lean to..

It looks like it is going to be a sh!tty day Sat.. maybe we should wait another week to butcher ,Kim ??

LONG day, happy to be home, looking forward to some cheesecake after I digest the Chinese food for a bit (yes I cheated and picked up take-out). I spent so much time just cleaning up the lab prep area, I did not get the lab I was supposed to set up started until 2 PM!

Vicki, you can come to the Bash! Not everyone who comes is a lush!!!!

Picked up my coffee cup from the coffee house in town today. Always nice to hear snickers as you walk away. Unless the attitudes in this community change, they will be writing their own death sentence. A town with a school, a few bars, two cheese plants, and three churches (who cannot get along either). Very sad actually, it has a lot of potential to be a nice place to live. Nobody wants to be involved with anything though.......

Enough chatting about the pigheads here. Not worth my time! I need cheesecake...... oh yes! I can watch Castle!

Sorry Ang...won't be me driving up there. I had a 45 minute drive to BF4's place and had a kid get carsick on the way... We don't travel we'll...

Crazy busy week for us... Soccer practice and games for two kiddos, teacher conferences, meet with mortgage guy to talk numbers, I have a girls night out and hopefully finishing the coop addition this weekend. Just trying to figure out how to put in the roost and hopefully a poop board in the plastic coop.
Otherwise not too much exciting. Life is crazy some days and not others.

Hope everyone is warm because it looks to be getting chilly soon...

He had to have more fluid drained from his chest, but they do that at every visit now anyway. We know he will eventually get worse as time goes by, but at least for now he seems to still be playful & happy, and he has lived much longer than they had expected. As long as he can be a "normal" happy kitty, we will continue to do what we must to keep it that way. It is just such a crappy deal that such a great pet had to be stricken with a nasty disease at such a young age. We have another cat that is 19 and the devil won't take him.

DrH, I echo Terri's suggestion about getting 2 of Cind's kittens.

I have 3 brothers from a litter that are just inseparable. DH & I will never, ever regret keeping all of them. They just love each other so much, it is incredible.

Dan, you take it easy in that dusty stuff.

Vic, you must come to one of the bashes. As Bl4 said, not everyone drinks. It is just a great time amongst chickie friends with plenty of laughs and the occassional critter chase.

Twiz, hope your hen is ok.

Kristi, the chooks just need time to get used to each other & figure out the new pecking order. Once that is established, things will return to normal.

ChooksChick, prayers to you all that you find your friend safe very soon.

Not much happening today. Spent quite a while out with the chickies today since it was so nice out. I need to clean out the coop again, though.

Stella the new Dom is doing well. She seems to like Jack & has settled in with him nicely. She even laid an egg today. I got another pullet egg from one of my golden laced orps from Bf4. One of my lav roos seems to think they are plenty ready

but one of them refuses to agree. She was screaming her head off as she was being chased around the yard. Yikes! Oh, Bf4, Hershey has all of her daddy's junk and then some.

I'll have to try to take a pic of her tomorrow. She needs a "wide load" sticker across her behind.

Im glad to hear Stella is doing good. Dan was rather sad I sent her with you. But I told him she can get married and make Dom babies, and isnt that what every hen wants??? I love to think about Jack being smitten with her too though...

Vick... I had one and a half glasses of sangria at the bash. I didnt have anything alcoholic at the Bigz Bash. I'm plenty loud and HILARIOUS without booze. Tommy the Roo is the biggest drinker of us all, and he holds his liquor pretty well. Terri has built up his tolerance for the stuff...

) ... I want to come up to Wega, get a copy of the petition of NO CHICKENS signatures, and go around to all their houses and put up signs in their yard. I would have the signs made and they would say "Not God fearing nor God loving enough to love all his creatures... d@mn the chickens." Then I would lovingly sign the back "Remember to Love Thy Neighbor As Thy Self" with my email address. Fricken hide behind annonymous mail and snicker at people? Really? Picture me today in the coffee shop: "Oh hello you in the coffee shop. How ARE you today? Beautiful out isnt it? Say, do you have a good joke for me? No? Well I heard you snicker about something a minute ago, and thought you might have a nice joke to share. Oh well, have a SUPER AWESOME day..." Then I'd walk out of there with a little extra swish in the hips, a flick of the hair, a big smile on my face, and a soliatry finger testing for the wind...

Had a great time at the mini bash, it was nice to put faces to names, although I am terrible with names! I want to thank all of you for welcoming us, and the real thanks is my DGF got a little more interested in poultry! Kinda opened her eyes to what is out there and not that I am just a crazy chicken person. We (she) has been talking about what we will be adding to the flock next year and it definitely looks like I will be looking for some guinea and duck eggs next spring, hint hint to you that can find nests!

I atleast get to the huge task of trying to figure out what chickens I will raise next year!

Ugh- well I took all of your and advice a couple weeks ago and pushed Grace's prolapse back in. (well actually I held her and my sister in law did it) I was out there today and it was back! She seems so happy and healthy, but I imagine it won't stay that way from what you all have been saying. i don't know what to do? Will it just keep coming back?

Judge.... He's like a teenager now... young, fast and thinks he knows it all!

Health wise, I'm not sure, I think what damage could be done probably has. (as far if anyone could "catch" anything from the other coop. If anyone thinks different... speak up! As far as taming goes. It would be better for the reasons I listed before.

Forgot to mention it yesterday...I made one of the roos we butchered into chicken and dumplings. WOW even pressure cooked there sure was a difference! Been a long time since I had a "real chicken" in the pot! The meat was darker and more flavor!
Lots of cleaning, moving and building here.... and MUCH more to do!

Morning! Off to the Chem plant!

BigFam, as much as I would have loved to do that, I had to get to work instead of wasting time with them. It is a small town. You cannot be a business owner here and behave that way. Slowly all of the businesses downtown have left, so right now it is just a matter of time before there is nothing left. I will continue to help attempt to getting the ordinance changed, but I am not going to stay here and wait for that to happen if I can help it!

Thank you for the compliments on my kids. They are not always like that. They had a lot of fun and would love to get one of those go-karts for at their Grandparent's place.....

Judge, I am sorry your hen prolapsed again.
