Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

What browser are you using (those with issues) I have found Google Chrome works well for BYC, IE8 was TERRIBLE for a while but it is better now. I have no idea how FireFox runs BYC.......

Angie, have you looked into the Just Eat Real Food page on FB? They follow a Paleo/GF type of diet. I see a LOT of GF recipes from them.

My suggestion for the cake; eat it the same day you make it.

Evening all, it certainly feels cold when the sun is behind the trees. well I just closed up the coop door, the girls are safe inside, they moved from the nest boxes to the perches. I peeked at them earlier and they found the food and the water. They barely eat anything.

I did a check in the woods, no sign of the missing girls. I feel like my ignorance murdered them. I hope tomorrow when no one is around the girls in the coop will come outside and make noise to attract them towards home but I really doubt it. It is supposed to be warm but rain, I hope they can find food and shelter. Feeling very guilty.

I think the girls are terrified of their new surroundings, they never leave the coop. They came from being in the open in a chicken tractor so not sure why they are afraid, other than of me.

hope everyone is having a good night

David

Good evening...this is me:

I figure the people have eaten enough at the "game" so I dont cook! Got the potatoes dug, tomatoes picked, beans picked and the barn coop covered in plastic...I am tired!
Here are some picks:

I have to make an amendment to the potato report! Here I was digging what I thought should be reds and I found a bunch of the Finnish finger potatoes? OK--anyone else have potatoes that seem to move after they are planted? Jim--ask Annie if she finds this while digging potatoes will ya?

Here are my reds and yukon golds...very disappointed in this harvest...maybe they migrated into the neighbor's garden?

Here are the Kennebecs...not really happy with this amount either.

Does anyone know what the name of this heirloom tomato is? A great producer for sure! The fruits are kind of striped red and green when ripe. I have saved some seeds.

The last thing to be harvested...the brussels sprouts. We havent eaten any of them yet this year...I cant wait!

You guys that are having problems with BYC...you should send a message to a moderator; maybe they will have a suggestion? I use Fire Fox and have not had any problems at all.
Going to eat my popcorn now...my touch pad does not care for popcorn grease in it...silly thing!

Busy Packer Win Sunday All... Nice to win again two weeks in a row. First home loss for the Rams this year. Glad we were the ones to oblige.

My son bagged a nice eight pointer today after the packer game...helped him get him out and hung in the pole barn. Sorry your hubby didn't find his Angie....sucks for sure.

Didn't see the weather for tomorrow, hope it's another nice one.

Venzun cheeseburgers with fried onions, on fresh buns made from Jim's recipe....heaven here on earth. Why do I own McDonalds stock, when suzie makes a superior burger ?

Evening all...........
BL4 Firefox runs great here, I have used them for my browser for about 2 years now and love it ...........HATE IE with a passion, too many pop ups, too much added garbage so slow, always errors with pages, and wait to send reports.....arggggggrrr never again.......

Congrats to the son BigZ on the nice buck.....

TerriO where are you dumping the mulch........ and is it actually decent we got a load a few years back and it was all pine needles and stringy bark....... not much else, it also disintegrated in about 6 months, and was none existent........

David glad ya got at least 1 back, I hope the others make it long enough to return........

Jim how many taters ya got to dig yet? sounds like it maybe a lot of digging........ I never had any luck with taters here........but wish I would, I would love to can a bunch for quick stews and smashed taters.
Sorry the neighbor didn't show up, wish we would have been able to come up the last few weeks, but everything just seems to be fighting our efforts. Hopefully this coming weekend will work.........I sure could use 12 less roosters to feed, especially the next 3 weeks, cuz its gonna be a long haul to that first pay check.
Yah Bear is my baby Jim, he will not even go by Adam if he is in the pen, and whenever he sees me he just whines....... and sounds pitiful like he hasn't seen me in days, when in fact its moist likely less than a hour or 2........ he chews me up like candy everytime I go in the coop........ Max does too but he is easier to calm down and get to stay down, Bear even grabs my coat when I try to leave the pen, he is just such a big baby,.......... but they are both so loveable and huge wait till you see how much they have grown the last month....... they are now taller than my 120lb. American Bulldog... when they fill out they will be much bigger than he is.........

Not much new here today, didn't do a whole lot, except laundry and dishes, had left over spaghetti for supper, hung the boys bedding out to air out and my rooster thought it was a ghost or something kept sending the alarm out and would not stop for like 10 minutes.......... thought I lost another chicken tonight, but she was hiding out in the barn and didn't go up on the roosts with the girls not sure why, she also had an empty crop, so will keep an eye on her tomorrow, not sure if she is getting picked on or if she is isn't feeling well. I have several that are sneezing, the weather maybe or the damp yuck from all the rain...... even my roos are sneezing, I think I will add some vitamins to there water for a week or so....... see if that helps........ any suggestions on which one would be best? especially for the roo's who are about to be butchered?
Arm is improving still draining, but almost back to normal size, seriously Adams finger looks worse still than my Arm........ I think he needs a recheck.......... doubt I will go back, but maybe if they call and bug me....... so anyway gotta sleep early and quick tonight Adam has to be up at 4am, to be at the place by 5;45.........so night all. See ya in the am..........Kim

MLH, I am so sorry to hear about Twain! And am glad it wasn't much worse. Scary for sure!

I get those problems with the error box saying to type something before hitting submit also. And I used to have all the icons/smileys not appear too. They usually went away after a reboot to either the computer or the wireless router.

David, so sorry to hear about your escapees. Don't beat yourself up. They might come back.

Still playing catch up so sorry if I missed something important. Gotta sleep now. Sweet dreams, all!

Hi all!
Tired so this will be short.... nothing going on here anyway.

I use Firefox and don't seem to have the issues you speak of.

I think young son got carried away with the fire tonight.... hot as hell in here!

Going to be nice the next few days.... hope to get more yard work done!

Night All!

Happy Monday everyone.

Hope all is well. Not looking forward to work this am, Would rather look for the missing girls. I have a mixture of corn , sunflower seeds and sail flower seeds to put in the covered run and some for outside. I am hoping the girls will see it, make loud noises and attact the missing girls. I will see after work. , This winter I need to add a cover for the entire run. I am thinking bird netting on the top and sides about 6 ft tall, I am shorter than that. Not sure if i will use lumber or pvc pipe. Well I better go walk the dogs , wake up the boys and get going

have a good day everyone

Well looks like I don't get to post first this am. someone always beats me too it.....LOL but got up at 4 made Adams lunch and coffee, sent him off at 5 then checked in here...... and already David is up and gone........ hope your chickies come home today to greet your return from work........
anyway I fed the horses poured some food in the food dishes for the girls and let them out of the coop, its still dark outside and they were wondering already so closed the garage up till day light, don't want anyone else going missing........ day sends a few predators back in hiding at least.... I miss the security of the enclosed coop/run....... have to figure out what to do with the boys and wish I had my no wire fence so they could be loose..... anyone ever use those fences? does an electric horse fence interfere with the signal? I will have to find that out b4 I buy them seeing as they are over 500 bucks...... I would be so mad if they didn't work........
anyway...... hoping the rain holds off long enough to fill puppy holes and clean their run........ they are poopy puppies LOL lots of little presents for me to pick up...... and the chickens are making quite a mess in my garage to clean up as well....... was easier in the sand run and coop, now I have to scrape it off concrete...... but at least they are getting to go out and pick around for bugs and such, my eggs are finally nice and dark yolked, like they should be, haven't had that since spring when they were out picking....... gotta butcher these rooster, Dutch is able to fly out a the stall with the little boys even with his wing clipped....... darn it had to catch him again right away this morning, glad he is nice and don't give me too many problems.
So anyway not much to report here, will get back here later I hope ......so for now have a wonderful day everyone........... Kim
