Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Dreary Morning All! Congrats to your DS Bigz! At least he waited till after the the game.

Bryan called just before kick off and said he wanted to put some tin on his deer condo roof.

So didn't get to sit down and watch until after the half. Watched the Jets game after that. Wow wee. Have always liked Sanchez. Let Bry use my new saw to clean up shooting lanes, he threw the chain off of it and it was tight. Can't imagine what he did to do that.

He's good with a hammer but other than that...... Forgot to mention Donny's toidy fix went better than expected. Basically needed a taller wax ring but replaced the leaking valve and fill line. $16 fix. Was gonna go back to the woods today but just don't feel like it, plenty to do in it's place. Supposed to nicer tomorrow anyway. tiki has been MIA for quite awhile too. Better get critter chores done.

Morning!

We did make it out to the in-laws yesterday afternoon. The ducks were so HAPPY to be let loose out of their pen, and they were actually making NOISE (they have hardly made a sound since we took them over there). They all look really good, I think giving them their hot tub helped them out. They looked nice and sleek. Tossed them some mealworms, caught them and had them exercise their wings (tossed them in the air a bit). My MIL and FIL had a good time watching them do their thing, they are so much fun to watch. I miss them and my neighbors do too.

My DD and her BF checked the trail-cam yesterday too. There was one good pic out of 12, and that was in one week, so they decided to move the camera to another location. My FIL has a trail-cam that he has never used since he bought it at a silent auction and the directions were missing. Fortunately it is the same kind as the old one the BF has so he will be able to set it up for my FIL (earning brownie points already.....)

We are liking the bigger guy in the back. I hope they can get a better shot of him with the camera in it's new location.

I should really motivate here, I have to get to the University yet this morning.

TTFN!

Morning everyone!
so far so nice this morning.

David~I hope your chickies come home but honestly, if they were that flighty it is just as likely that they were spooked further away because they had no bonding time with your place to recognize where "safe" is. Still hoping that they might be close enough to hear the other chooks and respond.

Try not to feel too guilty. You had no experience with the little "pigeons" but now you know how to keep the rest safe

I have finished ALL my fall chores!!!!
yesss.gif
Well, all I can do right now anyway. Got the garlic planted, another 2 bales of straw chopped and spread in the winter run, the fence between it and the greenhouse garden closed back up (girls not happy about that but they have that nicely mulched in for me, good chookies), cleaned up the mess after I let them play in the Herb garden for 2 days (the little rototillers can sure throw the dirt around and out of my raised beds!). AND, I still managed to watch most of the game!!!!
Oh darn!!! Sitting here I just thought of more stuff I could do outside today
rant.gif
Oh well, should be nice weather to get it done. Nothing big tho, just a little extra cleanup or the stuff that if you do now doesn't have to be done in spring. Can't waste these nice days!!!

Got a good deal on the reinforced w/1/4 by 1/4" polygrid, uv protected clear, 14 mil 6x20' tarps to cover the fences around my run. Hope they show up this week before the weather turns too much. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do over the top to keep, at least some of, the snow out. Rainy day Google search project.

Grrr- talked to the vet who was here today to do preg. checks on the cows, and he said to put Sulmet in the waterers and that would help the chickens and it would help the goats with diarreah. I showed him the dropping board which had some bloody gunk on it and he said it was not worms but maybe coccidiosis (sp?). Or it was from Graces healing prolapse. If I give the Sulmet I have to ditch the eggs for 2 weeks. Anyone know what I should do? I have no idea....

I suspect you sre right but i am hoping the 8 hours they were there will make it look familiar but you are probably right.

Kim sorry. I will try to post later. :D

Foggy here but no rain yet. Hopefully if it does the missing girls will go in the
Little shelter. It will be easier to catch them

You do NOT mess with cocci! Give the sulmet and feed the eggs back to the chickens so they aren't going to waste. Because its to also help the goats, don't go the corridor route. Use the sulmet and get it done.

Good morning...lots to read! I agree with BigFam Judge...if your vet said to give that to them I would do it. I have only had Cocci here once quite a while ago and that did clear it right up.
Congrats on getting all the fall stuff accomplished Vidki...good feeling for sure. I only wish I could have the same feeling!

I suppose if I actually could SLEEP in the night and not get out of bed at 9:30 I could get more done! SHeesh--I could NOT wake up today at all. NOw I am doing what I usually do at 7:30! Maybe I dug too many potatoes yesterday and exhausted myself? I dont know but it has to stop!

David I sure hope you get the birds back. Kinda reminds me when we got out first goat and she escaped...DH tackled her in the ditch across the road. We got the neighbors' goats here to lure her back. I hope your hens do the same for the escapees.

Heating up the turkey soup stock I started yesterday. It is smelling good. Will make a delicious supper for sure.
I was reading in my seed savers book about starting sweet potatoes. I am planning on trying that next year for sure. I LOVE sweets! (potatoes that is) I cant believe how expensive they are in the store though...$1.29/LB--I hope I can get them to work.

Going to try and scare up some breakfast...maybe popcorn again! LOL! DD26 just made eggs and they smell delish--she didnt make any for me though...darn kids!
Well, have a fantastic day everyone! TerriOstartingtowakeupabitnowcoffeisreallystrongtoday

just checking in,

Terri a god friend of mine raises sweet potatoes over near New Richmond and every year he bugs me to order some slips. Says they work well and are really delicious when home grown,,,not sure where he gets the slips but that would be the way to go. Remind me if you want me to get the info

ok,,,,back to the backache of being an aspiring garlic farmer
