Good wet windy morning all!
CC~so sorry for your Esmeralda.
I just try to think that better they go that way then to predators. But, who am I to talk? I am still running scenarios thru my head about "what if I had done this or was it really that and I missed it?" and Stirfry has been gone for weeks. I do at least still find solace in the fact she passed in her sleep, I hope you can too. You're a good chickie momma.
JJ~what a handsome young man!!! (and a great forehead too,
)
Got ambitious and decided to replace the plastic on the window on the east side of the coop with some heavier clear vinyl while the weather was still nice (not an easy task since both my coop windows are 6 feet off the ground to deter predators ) and since I had the vinyl out,of course, I might as well go ahead and cover the short fence between the coop and the gate, and, oh well, there's enough left on this roll so I might as well get the gate covered for winter too, and.................................. Think we all know how that scenario goes
Sadly, today we will probably consume the last of our homegrown tomatoes on some BLT's made with large slabs of Nueske's bacon. Fortunately we don't live too far from a hydroponic farm so we won't have to eat those nasty things they call tomatoes at Wally World.
Speaking of Nueske's bacon, have some applewood uncured sizzling in the pan right now to go along with eggs from the girls (before I dosed them with Wazine, don't worry) so I better go tend it.
