TO has sick chickens but I'm sure she will do her best

Kim found a squashed missing hen but will also do her best

the roads are slippery in spots? well that will be the case for another 4 months

Joe is back on his back because he wouldn't "back" off the freaking woodpile

and I just now saw Heather's post about her miracle goats! congrats sell those eggs on the auction board I say

whew, I really am confused and need to go eat some zzzaaaa

YES I did vote and refuse to watch any results for at least a couple hours, and ACV does little good unless it is the unpasteurized unfiltered kind,,,,,,it's the Mother that contains all the good stuff

Kim, the chicken did not die because it was molting.. chickens molt all the time.. It is not a fatal condition........ It was a red star..

TerriO, how did you know what state the pup was from ?

Hi all--the MG female was on her way out when I went down to check just now...I helped her make the transition from alive to dead. I am sad. She is the one that won me the big trophies this year...I had high hope for their offspring. Such as it goes with chickens.

No it is not Coryza--no smell like that. I will look up the other thing though.

Off to do research...oh yeah, the black Am pullet was dead when I went to lock up...maybe only mixed breeds left in there...hybrid vigor?

H&R, so sorry to hear about your dad. I'm sending hugs & prayers your way for him & all of your family. Thankfully it isn't something more serious, although infections can get pretty bad if left untreated or not caught early. Glad to hear your mom was being cautious. Hope he is back home real soon.

Frenchie, so glad to hear ET let you have the kitten.

She is one lucky little girl you found her when you did. Can't wait to hear about Cody's good news.

I'm sure others mentioned it, Ghost, but if a chicken has a compromised immune system or is battling certain kinds of illness, they can occasionally die from a hard molt. It is very stressing on a healthy chicken. I think that might possibly have been my Ezzy's problem. That poor girl was so bald on her back & head with very little sign of any feather regrowth until only recently. Check out Nu-Stock at Fosters & Smith? Wow, that Snowflake is a survivor for sure, and a fighter. I sure hope she makes it. I agree with everyone to keep her extra warm with lots of fluids, protein and foods high in vitamin A.

It has been drizzling off & on most of the day down here.
We went to vote this AM also. The phone calls were getting more than a tad bit annoying! I think we had at least 8 or 9 today.

Someone had the nerve to ask you who you voted for? Like none of your beeswax? Wow. I never let them even get a chance to speak. As soon as I hear that "pause" after I say hello, I'm already hanging up.

Terri, so terribly sorry to hear about your chooks, especially your MG hen. How horrible! I hope you can get it cleared up fast.

I'm glad for Dan's post too. We need a little chuckle around here. I sure hope everyone's troubles clear up quickly. And congrats on the pup, Jim. I believe you mentioned him a while back & asked if anyone was heading down there? Maybe not. I'm getting pretty tired & could be confused. Doesn't take much these days. Shush up, Bigfam! DrH... Got the letter from the Humane Society.... $30 for spay or neuter for a cat and that includes rabies and FVRCP vaccines! Neil just got 2 cats! LOL
I would call and see if you can get in on the SNAP program.

All but 1 of my dogs are rescues, Puppies are wonderful, enjoy her.

Me time ... We got approved for Dean ins.I'm taking Halden to a pediatric neurologist Friday. It's her on call day though so we might not get an appt accomplished. But I'm at least trying to get the ball rolling here. I'm also taking him to Lavalle today to meet some dogs. I'm not buying but need to see his reaction to a dog this size. Also want to see how therapeutic these dogs are. It sounds like they are very intuitive and kind, but I need to see it. Also going to expose him t a 6 wk pup to see what kind of interest and behavior he has. Road trip for mommy and Halden day!

Think your sandals might get replaced or your going to have to wear plastic bags for socks. 2 things I HATE steppin in are gum and dog chit! Dan was thinkin yesterday that maybe theres enough wood made for next year but I know I won't stop once my "back" heals. The thing that gets me is the splitting. Lifting and turning with the weight . Bryan yelled at me last night when I told him I had it done and was paying for it. A lot better this AM. H&R hope they get the infection under control! L's mom has the same thing going on but from a bruise.

Cind didn't call yesterday but went on their web site. Their shipping the cats to Toledo for fixing. WTH? Will call today. Had a dream last night [nightmare] that we got 2 boys. Butch and Sundance.

CC I don't get calls like that on my cell but L does because of her second job. I so don't miss the land line had to get up and go to the kitchen to answer it. Dang near ripped it off the wall last election. And if you didn't listen to the whole thing you stayed on the call list and half an hour later they'd be back. Bigz I'm so with you on the electorial college. IT'S JUST WRONG! One man one vote! Poor Peatwo never came out of the coop yesterday, poor baby. And only 3 eggs but they were delish!
