Wish me luck...day 20 and a pip!!!!!

Thank you chillin!
Yea, I am just hoping to see veins in at least one of them. I would be so happy, just like a kid at Christmas.
The next two day just can not come soon enough, yet in the next two days I am back at work after my vacation.....so.......
:o

What day are you planning on candeling? I would at least wait until day 10 to do so. Maybe some of the pro's here could tell you if you can do it sooner. Have some faith. I'm sure more than one will have movement. You know those roo's are alway's busy doing the wild thing. Just try and keep your mind busy thinking about all the beautiful bubble butt's your going to have.

Now its just my incubator.
I have a 1602N Hova forced air, and I have got a good hygrometer but for my thermometers........ I have one for a reptile tank with a sensor
and then a small white springfeild and acurite.
The sensor one for the reptile tank reads up and down on the temps....it goes from 99-101.8
the sprinfeild one says 101.5
and the acurite one says 102
What one am I to belive? I dont know!

Which one should I hold accoutable?

Tsagirl - good luck with your first very own hatch. How eggciting!

I have candled my silkie eggs on day 4 and almost mistakenly tossed them, so I would recommend 5 days if you know what you're looking for and 7 days if you're just not sure.

Regardless, don't toss any on the first candling. Mark them with a ? and recheck your questionable ones again later, around day 14. It will be more obvious by then if they are good or not.

As for the thermometers..go with the Springfield..it's right about average of all. Just a gut feeling. I have no experience with that thermometer.

Fingers crossed for you and 100% fertility, so you can post pics soon.

I am gonna go with the springfield one too!

I will take your advice, thank you again! And thank you for your roo!
He is so funny, he crows about 2-4 times in the morning and then stops for the rest of the day. And his crow is just about as annoying as a dog bark and not that loud....soooo I might be able to keep him!!!

I am so excited for you ! I love incubating my own eggs, I haven't got brave enough to order online and have them sent. There is just something so rewarding about hatching home laid eggs!!!

It doesn't matter. Those temps are all within range. I noticed that my accurite is the fastest one to change temps. The springfield takes a bit of time to catch up with the accurite, but if left long enough (I tested them prior to my current hatch) they ended up being exactly the same. The temps inside the egg isn't going to swing much at all with stable temps like those! Good luck!!
