I came home for my lunch break - as I am wont to do, now that I have chicks in the brooder(s) and call duck(lings) who need their kiddie pool filled up - and Farmer Lew was industriously working on my coop. All four corner posts were up and the frame for the floor was in place. He said George Sebright kept an eye on him throughout the work.
The power cord I said would be live, wasn't, but he found one that was hot so he could use his power tools. Doh!
I filled the feeders, freshened the waterers, checked the chicks in the grow-out coop/pen, added fresh water to the kiddie pool, checked on the pullet in the infirmary coop on the back porch, took care of the babies in the brooders in the house, and headed back to work.
Got home - as it was going dark - and there's a whole, raised coop floor in place!
I'll get photos Saturday during daylight. That's also the day I release the 13-week old chicks from their segregation/integration quarters to get to mingle with the rest of the flock.
Sunday is the next day for work on the coop to continue, after Morgan7782 and I pick up the rest of the lumber in her pick-up.
I am so appreciative of my friends, and I have BYC to thank for getting to know them.
