Wolf kills mule

I actually track them and when one back in Florida tried to move close to school , i reported him. instead of getting released he got deported to Mexico. but i do know the difference between a animal and a human. They knew there are wolves in the area. Would you move right next to a sex offender? no, you wouldnt. You do research FIRST of where they live and then you pick your place. You cant say " yeah , i knew tht my neighbor is a known sex predator, but i didnt care. I didnt think he would do anything. I want him gone. You point of a sex offender isnt valid, since it is your RESPONSIBILTY to check about danger BEFORE you move somewhere. Dont move into the hood and complain your house get shot up, dont move where you know there is a sex offender next door and if you love your family dont move into an area where there are wolves .They were willing to take the risk at the cost of their family pets. Its just as bad as people in Florida moving out in the country next to a lake or river and then wonder why their dog got eaten by a gator. WEll duh, its Florida, they gators live there. Next thing you know they get pushed away and have to find new habitats in another area. Its not the animals fault that they ate the mule dog, its the owners fault for not proberly researching first. I dont feel sorry for the people here in Ft Riley that let their animals(cats and dogs) stray around and then they complain they dissappear. Well lets see, when you drive to work in the morning, do you see the coyotes by the road? Yes? WEll they have to eat and your pets dont have anough survival skills to live out in the prairie at night.

These farmers owned that land before the wolves were reintroduced, so your argument does not work here. This particular pack seems to be preying on livestock. There is another pack in the area that has been doing well and they have had no issues with them.

That has got to be the MOST ridiculous argument I've ever heard! By your reasoning, then if a bear or wolf or whatever walks into your backyard in Chicago or Indianapolis or Kansas City (or insert the name of ANY large town here) and eats one of your kids or pets, it's no big deal, it's to be expected..... because at some point in time ALL of those metropolitan areas were wildlands. Does the fact that a plot of ground was built on 150 years ago make it better than the plot of ground that was built on 10 years ago? Are wild animals ok as long as they don’t dare to come into “populated areas”? If it affects only 1 or two families it’s ok, but let a black bear walk down a suburban street and it is the end of the world! Most every newspaper account of a lion, bear or moose entering even a podunk small town usually ends badly for the animal. Your argument contains no logic.
By your argument we sould be able then to move out in the prairie or far away from civilization and desrtoy any animal that threatens our animals us or our food supplies. Lets see, thats how the southern rocky mountain wolf , carolina parakeet, american passenger pigeon, Goffs pocket gopher, thicktail chub, dusky seaside sparrow, heath hen and many other animals got extinct. Because people like you think its okay to come and kill anything that might threaten them or is of food value. Nobody cares that they might kill an entire species. Who cares, its just a animal.

Good grief where do I start? OK a predator is a roaming creature with a large home area and expands to find prey.
The act of predation is the same whether it is a person or animal. The reasons for it vary I agree but the method is all to similar. These wolves were reintroduced in the area similar to the government housing released sex offenders in your neighborhoods.
You still are missing the point... they want to be able to protect themselves without repricussions as you would living with gators, do they let them raom freely when they become an issue? no they do not that is all these folks want to do with them, control them and the state here will not do this they have FORCED them in the area by neglect. If it were a battle over who came first the native americans would be the only winners.

OK, let me put a gator in your livestock pen or chicken pen. I will be the government and you play the rancher. Now I have told you everything will be OK just trust me the gator will only eat what it needs and you built your house in thier former habitat. Now when one grabs your kid after all the stock is eaten you call us and we will reimburse you for your loss. Sound fair? sound like I am helping you?

Good point. You are not that far from there as the crow flies if I remember and Terrilacy is just north of this area as well. Any sitings in these areas?

All I can say is selective SSS. This particular pack seems to have a problem, the other in the area doesn't.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE, chickened

I did not say that in any way, shape or form. First off, the wolves were NOT there when these people began ranching. Wolves were re-introduced to Yellowstone, which is many many miles away, in 1995. So it is NOTHING like the city folk who build their McMansion in the middle of a cow pasture and wonder why they smell cow poop.

Did I ANYWHERE call for extermination of wolves or any other species???? No, I did not. You somehow extrapolated my words into a cry for species elimination. You are certainly creative if nothing else.

You still dont get it .I wouldnt live there to begin with because its my responsibility to make sure i dont put my familiy in unneccasary danger. I wouldnt build over a nest of an endangered species or push them away from their habitat. I am done with the argument because people dont care about wildlife. Its ok in their eyes to let animals go extinct.

It's not about where anyone else chooses to live. Those people and their families have been there for generations. They make their living from the land. You know like people used to. The wolves are re introduced and not of the same 'strain' as the originals - hence invasive species. This pack consists of known livestock killers - plain and simple they should be eliminated before more are spawned and before non livestock killers take up the practice. Easy to judge from someplace else.

There is nothing wrong with the wolves being there, and doing what they do.. HOWEVER.... wolves need to be managed. Their numbers need to be tightly controlled so they are not tempted to or attracted to the ranches and livestock. What the fed regulations have done is allow the wolves to run willy nilly and cause havoc for ranchers and even to their natural food. Along with the video of the cow fetuses being ripped from their mothers...I've also seen videos of elk with their fetus having been ripped out as well...They're doing the same thing to their natural food sources. The wolves do have a right to exist, yes, but in small well controlled groups. When the wolf populations get too big, then it is not fair to the wildlife or the ranchers or the wolves themselves. Cause after they've killed all the deer, and all the livestock..... well then they'll start going after pets and children.

I agree, the wolves that are taking the easy route and going after livestock need to be eliminated. For one of two reasons. 1. because they are going after livestock. 2. Because they may have become overpopulated in that area and have expanded their range - therefore - there are too many that can be healthily supported in the area where they are intended to populate.

Those of you who are defending the wolf over the ranchers right to protect their livestock.... remember your comments when a yote or coon or someone's dog gets one of your chickens, and how bad you feel.. please make sure you don't hurt that poor coon or yote or dog, cause after all, they're just doing what comes natural and need to eat too!

Some of you guys crack me up! LOL, if we all lived huddled in our little cities and stayed out of the country, woods, and open praries etc because the big bad wolf lived out there.......and we had to expand our cities cause well we keep breeding like cockroaches.........where do you guys think we'd have to expand the cities into, and where or where do you think your food would come from?

Oh silly me.. they'd just make bigger grocery stores, thats right........ (yes I'm being sarcastic)
