Ash padded over just as Thunderbird spoke. She stood next to Crag, glancing at him as she asked "What's happening?"

"Beta choosing" he said quietly

Lila was disappointed. She had beta experience and the role was given just to some loner who was never in a pack. For now she kept her temper down.

Dusk was taken by surprise. He expected a wolf who knew what they were doing would be chosen, but he dipped his head and said,"All do respect, but I really don't think I'm up for that job."

Pike perked his ears. This was interesting.
