Women in the military

Honestly, I REALLY don't like to get into conversations like this because they make me feel sick to my stomach; but I will...

I think anyone should have the rights to be in the military, reguardless of sex or background. I also believe it's wrong to suggest that all women are weaker than men, mainly because not everyone is the same. In fact, there's also such thing as a weak guy.

Though, most of the "average" humans, male or female, are actually at the same strength. People shouldn't over generalize.

I remember John Kerry said during his campaign that ending up in the military was not a wise goal in life. Some schools and colleges won't even allow recruiters on campus. Might be part of the reason.

Like I said, my beliefs, please don't hate me for them. I just think men and women were built differently. Perhaps its a social/cultural thing that guys do the more physical jobs but thats the way it turns out.

To play the devils advocate on myself, if a guy cannot keep up his end physically in a squad, he needs to go to a support role. Personally I think boot camp helps weed and sort more than folks think.. but that's just MHO

Trust me I agree with you. I support our military. I am no fan of women in combat but I have observed that a big percentage of women in active combat other than pilots and such do not necessarily resemble a woman always.

No offense, I just had to get this off my chest. But that was really sexist.

Personally I don't think it matters whether you were built differently or not. Just go for whatever you want to do in life, whether you want to do stereotypical "womens work", "mens work", or not.

Not all guys need to be physically fit. Maybe he doesn't want to; or even need to.

But then, believe what you want.
