Women in the military

If I was doing a paper on how native americans felt about life in space but only asked Etheopians, and Germans I wouldn't have much of a research base for my paper. You must have quantitive data for your research: ie.... military people believe category A more so than non military. Female Military believed A 5 times more than Males. And civillians split the opnion blah blah blah....

I am trying to quantify opinion if possible. You may find some ppl share alot in common through this process.

If our military continues to play the role of the worlds police then why stop with women lets put children in uniforms as well. The military used to be for settling matters when diplomacy failed. Get in quick get it done and with warriors not women. Unfortunately this is not what the military is about anymore.

Sorry, I guess I should have specified that this discussion was for my own personal interest, not research. Believe me, I have plenty of sources for that.

I was just trying to get a feel for how people feel about the issue, and what personal reasons they have that I may not have considered. Thank you, though, for pointing that out! So if people what to qualify their opinion, that's fine, but, like I said, I'm just looking for perspectives.

I asked for the criteria. You can not conduct research without having basic information on who you are polling.

instead of name I should have put Male or Female.
For a civillian you would fill it out as

Name: blah blahmason (or better yet just Male or Female)
Rank: Civillian
Branch of service: na
Unit: na
Time in service: na
Combat experience: na


Now we have something to catergorize you in. This does not say that civillians know less, or feel different but it does allow your opinions to be measured against those opinions from people with your same qualifiers, and different qualifiers.

Well some act like children but no I am not comparing them I am saying once you start down that slippery slope... some things are just not practical... or have an explainable reason why you do not do it. If the military wanted more women in combat they would have them they can do that. Lets leave the running of the military to the generals. I find this subject not unlike asking someone what they want for dinner.

I do agree with you on this, categorizing would definately add depth to a report. I guess the example you gave is what threw me off.

Your original post indicated you were writing 2 papers and doing research. So I was responding to that in an effort to help you. Now that you have changed the reason I look kinda like a jerk......................

But I still believe for my own curiosity and for others reading this it would help to put your qualifiers down.
