Wondering what breed/mix is rescue chicken?

We rescued this chicken back in June on the side of road and it’s clearly a cockerel/roo but wondering what type or mix it might be.
He’s prob around 7-8 months old. Has only crowed once and it was the softest little crow you’ve ever heard. Nothing like my 8 month old barred rock roo. He does make other kind of strange noises, is people friendly/respectful. He’s a good roo just curious about what he might be. We were thinking maybe Buckeye but have read they’re fairly rare in backyard flocks.

Thank you, he was pretty rough looking when we got him and prob about to succumb to dehydration had we not found him when we did. He’s definitely turned into a very good looking roo! He’s a good boy too. We’ve enjoyed having him. Very different personality then some of the other breeds we’ve kept.
