Wondering why...Is it just semantics?

For some time I have shaken my head over they way people word things. For instance, I have seen a number of posts recently about poultry being murdered. So what happens when I get the plucker set up and start in on the meat birds? What would you call it? I guess I prefer to call it controlled harvesting (by me) vs. freelance harvesting (by unathorized others). Or maybe it is premeditated food preparation vs. random acts of consumption...

Or how about this?... a critter dies either as a result of natural selection (that is what the local preditors would call it any how) or natural causes. People console the owner and assure them that they will see them on the "Rainbow Bridge." But what about all of us meat people? Collectively, how many meat birds do you think we have dispatched? I certainly wouldn't want to see all those cornish crosses again! So I polled my dear children...they don't want to see them again either and think that all of this "Raindbow Bridge" stuff is a cooked up lie to make people feel better about Buffy or Fluffy getting offed.

Obviously I have had too much time to ponder the more obscure points of semantics and chicken ownership. Either that, or the shortening days and return of winter are getting to me...I had to break the ice in the waterers three times before noon today. My chickens were not amused...but my kids were.

Well...you see, here's the deal. Across the Rainbow Bridge lined with CX is a very large plucker. Where else do you think they get all the white feathers to make the wings for everyone?

What would you call it?

I guess that would make you a serial killer!

Lol Sorry but i couldnt help laughing at the thought of being greeted on the 'rainbow bridge' by hundreds of angry chickens waiting for payback...
Maybe thats what true hell really is. Lots and lots of angry chooks.

No, I wasn't looking for a serious answer, but at the same time, don't want to offend either.

Bee, you are a hoot.

Edited to add, Bee, what are you doing up so late. It is really late in WV....

Yea I wasn't crying over them either, more than a FEW of them bit me. So at that point, it was edible revenge!!
