They seemed a lot better. Much perkier! I'm checking on the water a lot but it's a nipple waterer, hung from a chain, so I feel it's pretty sturdy

I have always kept 2 electric dog water bowls inside my coop during winter and summer. They are heavy 5 quarts, and the heating element only comes on to keep the water above freezing. Chickens drink less in cold weather, but they need access to water all day.
