Won't use nest

I have a Silkie who has been laying for a couple of weeks, but she won't use a nest box. She prefers to lay on the floor in the corner by all the poo. I have tried the fake egg / golf ball, I even put her eggs in there. I have built a poo shelf, something to keep poo off of the floor there in the corner. Any ideas to get her in the nest?

Nope. My silkies like the floor as well. I just leaned a board against the wall, stuck some hay behind the board, and let them have it.

This is good to know. I have 1 little silkie, about 18 weeks old. It'll be a while yet but now I know what to look out for.

I just make a nest in the corner if that's where they choose. I use straw and pine shavings for the Hen.
