I am new to the website and was wondering if there is anything other than wood ashes that I can use for a dust bathe since I do not have a wood stove or know anyone with a wood stove.

Sand. The gig with ash is it hinders mites and lice better. Not a cure by any means but certainly aids in keeping pests loads down. I only have to use permethryn once a year.

We dont have a wood stove either but we use wood ash. You can dig a hole in the ground and fill it with a metal bucket to collect. Then just have a nice cozy fire over the top of it. Lay wood horizontally on top of the bucket then stack wood in a teepee pattern on top of that. Ignite by using paper products and no accelerants. Sit back and enjoy
