My woodies should be getting ready to start laying sometime soon. We are getting there boxes in the pen. Should I offer them oyster shell to help with there eggs or will they be ok on their own? I know chickens need it but I am not sure about wild ducks.

I offer it to my ducks because they lay eggs almost every day. It can't hurt to have it available in case your girl needs it.

Same here, I have it available during breeding season until she begins to set and then I remove it.

Is this your first year with them?

Here is a photo I took last year of one of the ducklings making the big leap.

Yes its the first year that I have had them. They are almost a year old. I think that they are getting exicted. They are very vocal and the males are starting to chase the girls around. I can't wait for babies!!!!
