Wooden chicken coop

First of all, thank you for everything you have contributed to the forum in so many years. Although there are old threads, a lot of information is extracted and very good, thanks really.
Immediately after the thanks, explain my project / reality a bit, and put up with all the sticks for making it out of wood: lol:: lol:: lol:
The truth is that when I decided to put the chicken coop I had not read many things against wood, and all the things I saw were made of wood, and since I really like working with it, well, honey on flakes. I've really had a great time doing it.

I tell you what I have done and I await your comments before putting the chickens in, which is now the next step.
Since I retired I have been living in a town in Guadalajara where I have a little house with land in the sierra area, with many stones and a lot of holm oak, and I have set up an area, about 20 square meters, as a corral, all surrounded by mesh and covered in mesh too.
In one corner is "the chicken spa", as my wife says, raised from the ground about a meter, made with a large pallet that gives an area greater than one square meter.
I have made it with shingle wood, which is very cheap and works well and I have given it three layers of linseed oil to protect it and on the inside it is insulated with 3 cm extruded polystyrene, not even the bullets enter them 8).
I have put three layers, many, but by design it fit me well, with a retractable tray and a system to collect the eggs without entering the henhouse.
My idea is to put between 4 or 5 chickens, at most, so that they are comfortable and the 20 m2 are not too small for them.
I have put a 120 cm hanger. (with a good pine branch: o) where, I think, they will have room to sleep.
The feeder and the drinker I have thought under the house, to prevent it from getting wet, and high enough so that they do not dirty the water and avoid, if possible, the mice, that there are some.
The entire perimeter is surrounded with triple twist mesh and in the lower part I have doubled it with about 30 or 40 cm buried outwards and covered with stones and dirt, but I am still afraid of bugs.
I would like to read the opinions and advice, in case I have to change something before putting the animals in.

I put a photo of the back of my chicken coop so that the door can be seen, (which has been very nice: wink , and that it completely opens the chicken coop for cleaning. The lower part, made of metal square, can also be removed, in case I have to put in a wheelbarrow or a basket to collect the wood chips, which is what I have bought to make a bed for the chickens.
Tell me something, please, for sure that, apart from using wood, you will have criticisms and comments to make, because next Tuesday I want to buy 4 laying hens, to see if they will be made soon to their new home.

Nothing wrong with using wood.

The main reason people don't is that it's so much more expensive than even exterior-grade plywood.

My coop is out of wood, pine over the plywood, I personally like the look better.

Many advise against it because of mites and red lice, but I really like aesthetics and I suppose that you can fight the bugs

Lovely! Looks very nice. 4 hens should fit in their ok, as long as there is enough roost space. Go ahead and attach a picture of the interior for us as well
