Just wait for the real big ones! They always shows up a little later periodically and what a surprise at the size!

I always weigh mine.

How long do hens usually lay before the eggs hit their maximum average size? Our Red Sex Links lay big, beautiful brown eggs. The others, Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, and EE's, are still laying smaller eggs.....in the 46 to 50 gram area.

The girls were all hatched in the first week of April, and most started laying at the end of August to beginning of September.

Not sure at what age they reach maximum egg size....I'm fairly new to this even though I was around chickens all my life. I do know that each breed has different sizes. You might be able to find thread or chart on here some place.
