Working with and Cutting Hardware Cloth

Am trying to post a video of the drill snip cutting hc but can’t figure out how to do it.
If someone can guide me I will post it right away.
Upload to youtube then paste the link here(using the link icon above reply box).

Sorry
I tried to post it too YouTube but after posting it I can’t find it.
If someone truly wants the video I will send it to them.
I found the whole YouTube experience quite daunting. Nah, it was really just a PITA! I wish there was a way to upload through BYC. I think that should be on the to-do list. Can I get an Amen?

Am not experienced with videos, played with them a bit a few years ago when someone loaned me a camera to play with, there's a learning curve for sure. I got frustrated with not knowing how to edit the footage to the pertinent content and a reasonable file size.
It's pretty easy once you get your account set up...can take a long time to upload tho.
You can use vimeo and Facebook too....and there might be another one.

I don't use gloves with HC, it makes it impossible to work with. I roll it out as needed, and walk on it first. I use hand snips. HC is a breeze after hand snipping heavy gauge stuff. Cut your last wire BEFORE you cut the one or two in front of it. This way, your HC won't spring as badly when it comes free, and be so apt to cut your hand. I straighten the piece some more after it is cut, walking on it and bending the curling ends back toward me. I install with curl toward the frame.
I use fender washers from the farm store, sold by the pound, and a good patterned head (not philips) deck screw. I want to be able to remove, replace the hardware cloth easily down the road. I meshed one of my coop doors the other day. I need to add a lip board on the inside to help keep rain from coming in on the floor.

LOVE your door, my door is warping and not fitting well anymore:mad: szBKrhKvTX2hC%hK6ZV4CA.jpg

You hit the nail on the head! Really and truly, the TIME it takes to upload IS the problem. And since I do everything on my phone, I’m sure that only compounds it.

Would love to see both of these in action.....or at least a still pic of the cut they make.

Took longer to get to the hardware cloth part of construction than I expected (doesn't it always?), but here is a video of the power shears in use, as promised.

And here is a shot of the edge after I cut it. I didn't think to grab a pic before I installed it.

How close and straight you can cut it really just depends on how steady your hand is. The tool itself cuts pretty smoothly and it takes almost no effort at all.
