I hope that Glenda & the rest of you can help me plan the best strategy for my flock.
I had seen some roundworm-laden poops in the coops, so today I gave all my layers, my ducks, guineas & geese Wazine-treated water. Just as directed, took away the water last night, set out the medicated water this morning, & refilled their pans as needed. I found a few more wormy poops this afternoon.
The feed store where I got the Wazine had a sign posted by it saying to discard the eggs for 96 hours afterwards. Apparantly that's the word they got from the company. What do you all think about that? I need to sell the eggs to pay for the feed, I want to discard as few eggs as I must.
OK, now what should I do next? Glenda, you've been recommending DE, cayenne pepper, & yogurt. Please advise me in what to give & when to give it, and for how long.
I was also given some Ivomec Eprinex, Pour-on for Beed & Dairy Cattle (eprinomectin). I'd like to use that as a follow-up, when should I apply that? The box says "...meat & milk from cattle treated with this may be used for human consumption at any time following treatment..." Can we conclude that meat & eggs from chickens treated with this are also safe, with no withdrawal or discard time?
And then after that, should I again offer yogurt, and continue to add cayenne pepper &/or DE? I really appreciate everyone's imput, thank you!
