Worming Chickens?

My 9 month olds started getting pale combs and slight poopy butts. So I just went ahead and wormed them all the other day. Depending on how wet your area is and your cleanliness, you can worm every few months, 6 months or once a year.

I just wormed my chickens for the first time today. One of my birds looked droopy and was very lethargic, so I separated her from the flock and kept her on my front porch to keep an eye on her. On the second day, I found worms in her droppings, so I knew very quickly what the problem was. I'm very new to chickens and this is quite an adventure for me, so perhaps I ought not give advice, but I dewormed my birds with Wazine (it was what my local co-op had). I read that you should deworm every few months or so depending on where you live (I'm in the hot, humid south, so I suspect I'll be deworming every 3-4 months), perhaps only twice a year for those of you living in cooler climates. I also read that worms will become resistant to whatever dewormer you use, so it's best to change dewormers annually. I suspect that the more you deworm, the more frequently you'll have to change medications. Hope this helps!

Can I get Valbzen at Tractor supply? What form should I get? Is this something that I will need to inject(ugh)? Where would I inject it and how much. Or is this something I can just drop in their mouths(?) How much?

I dont know if TSC sells valbazen or not. I order mine from Jefferslivestock.com, you can call them. Valbazen is administered orally. Dosage is 1/2cc for standard size and 1/4cc for smaller birds. Redose again in 10 days. There's a 24 day withdrawal start to finish.

I looked on Jeffers, it says its valbezen is used in a drench? At least the one I saw, which I think is the smallest amt. I pu some wazine today I figured something is better than nothing. I also put her back on medicated start &grow.
This is the one I saw on Jeffers Valbazen Broad-Spectrum Dewormer
and Drench Gun
11.36% Albendazole

You dont need a drench gun, that is for cattle/sheep. Drench means it's given orally. It's best administered to chickens using a syringe (without needle) for measurement purposes. I buy the 500ml bottle. It will last you a long time, has about a 3 year expiration date. You can even share some with others, you'll have plenty leftover. Wazine only gets rid of large roundworms. Chickens can carry many types of worms. Also, wazine is mixed in water and discarded after 24 hours. How will you know they'll drink it, or drink enough of it to be effective...especially in cooler weather? Chickens drink less in cooler weather. A sick bird wont drink at all.
