Worming peacocks

I think you will need to provide more information, @peafowlmommy89 .

Are your chicks displaying any symptoms?
What is the name of whatever the feed store sold you?
Dewormers are intended to kill internal parasites, and are given internally.
I'm no worm expert,

but I'm not aware of any external pea worms...anyone else?

Sigh... They probably sold her ivermectin paste, which *might* work on some worms and external parasites if applied topically.

I am not aware of any external worms on fowl. Perhaps the 'worms' are lice, they are reddish and long? In that case, a drop or two of Ivermec Pour-on would take care of the problem on a chick. I would be very wary of using a product that would cause skin irritation, it could be that the tender skin was not tough enough for a remedy intended for an adult bird.

It's possible that an older bird could cough up gapeworms, which are red, but the likelihood of two birds coughing them up and them landing on the head is slim to none, and these are week old chicks, so they are too young for worms of any type.

If ivermectin was used, way too much was used. Not even sure how effective paste used topically is...

@peafowlmommy89 , are they still alive?

If you weigh them I can tell you about how old they are. FYI, that feed store employee should be shot! They told you to use way more ivermectin than they should have.

Your chicks look too young to have worms! Lice or mites, maybe, but not worms. No more ivermectin paste! If ever you want to give the paste, give it orally. Let me know how much they weigh and I'll tell you how much can be given.

Relax, if they're acting fine I'm sure they'll be okay.

The scale I use is a digital kitchen scale that I bought at Target. It will weigh small chicks and adults under 11 pounds. I prefer to weigh in grams, but most will weigh in grams or pounds.
