Worming with Wazine 17 and Ivermectin....

My vet recommends worming schedules due to the damage done by worms internally. He included a plethora of wormers to be used "off label." They include ivermectin, pyrantel pamoate, fenbendazole, albendazole, praziquantel. I will continue to recommend these wormers. End of discussion.

Simply put, Valbazen is the safest, most effective wormer on the market, Reguardless of what some vet says that most likely has never wormed a chicken with it, BTW chicken grandma Ivermectin stays in the system longer than Valbazen..Guaranteed that anyone that uses Valbazen will agree i'ts the best they've ever used..Keep pumpin i't Dawg, I'ts good stuff

Pine Grove has been a breeder for over 50 years and is an NPIP tester for the State of GA. I will take his recommendation to the bank any day.

The simple truth is that every wormer, other than that marginally effective Wazine (roundworms only), is off-label. There really are no chicken wormers because commercial operations have no need for worming chickens that never touch the ground and are culled at 2 years old or less. If you worm at all, you are off into dark territory anyway.


I believe that the accusation that someone here has a financial interest in recommending Valbazen is absolutely ludicrous and I really believe it was entirely uncalled-for.

Will you recommend these wormers to people who have small backyard flocks and no evidence at all that their chickens even have worms? Will you recommend they just pick a wormer without knowing what kind of worms their chickens have? I would recommend that they test their flock and find out if their flock has worms and what type they have.

Will you tell people that Valbazen is SAFE and not let them know about the potential liver damage?

Will you give links that imply that Valbazen is even effective against Cocci? My vet said today that it is NOT to be used for cocci.

That is what I have observed on this site and I have been saddened and concerned for people and their chickens when I feel the information is not correct.

Also, Bleach is safer to use to clean up Cocci. Ammonia is less safe to be inhaled by chickens and is no better at killing the cocci than bleach - per the vet.

Most people do not take their chickens to the vet. Most vets do not see chickens. Many simply refuse or charge astronomical amounts of money for their services. I can't see a day when I'll take a chicken's poop for a fecal test, not unless I become some big time breeder and have lots of $$ at stake; that is, if I can even find one who will do it. Most folks become their own chicken vets. I just did crop surgery myself last night, and not for the first time, either. Many here do know more than most regular veterinarians do about chickens.
